Agreed, someone kick the idiot who posted this issue off the wiki. Fail troll is fail, or stupid joke is stupid. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.229.129 (talk).

This skill

Is so friggen op, i swear I was running them he shot me for 53 and i started bleeding ~Phill Gaston User Phill Gaston Sig.png

This is perfectly balanced. In fact, other bow attacks need a buff. If you nerf this, rangers will have nothing left besides interrupts and elite bow attacks. Don't nerf bows, nerf broken crap like this, this, this, and this. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.229.129 (talk).
lol mystic sweep. --Readem 15:11, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
It's a spammable 0.5 second activating ranged attack skill. 5 energy makes it totally superior to other same time skills : Power Shot & Sundering Shot. Pff, Remove the activation time maybe works.--140.128.67.248 06:27, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Power Shot and Sundering Shot both suck and are completely inviable, don't use those as comparison.
Also, its a 1 econd cast, not 1/2. Kumlekar 06:16, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

PVE/PVP Split

I put my opinion on the page, but let me expand it here. Rangers have been repeatedly screwed over in pve. Over GW history the class has gone from being the center of many builds and in some cases over powered (Tombs B/P builds, UW trappers) to being barely playable in comparison to other classes. Pets and orders were nerfed (rightfully on pets, though orders would have been nice as a pvp only nerf if we had had those at the time). Then Sloth shot and keen arrow, due to their power in pvp. Ranger damage skills have repeatedly been weakened due to their power in spiking. With the release of PVE skills, rangers are the only class left out. Warriors and paragons have easy access to adrenal and close range abilities. Other classes have +4 energy regen allowing them to effectively pack pve spells on their bar. Rangers cannot do either of these things. Very few pve skills are affected by expertise. Since NF Condition rangers have consistently dominated all other forms due to the relitively high damage of burning arrow and the permantent 10 degen abilities when combined with apply posion. The change to incendiary arrows made conditions more effective for general use. Beast mastery is lauhable as a attribute in PVE. Trappers are still good, but general use. This left barrage, glass arrows/point blank (an expertise build), and experts dexterity/needling shot as the only reasonable damage left for rangers that is not condition dependent. For the ED build, hunters shot was one of the few attack skills that truly fit the requirements. The 1 second cast time on the attack allowed it to fit in with needling shot attack strings, and the 5 energy cos meant that it was not going to kill the ranger's energy supply like sundering and penetrating (the only other 1 second damage bonus skills) do. The May 2009 nerf to hunters shots ruins one of the last remaining viable damage skills for rangers. The nerf makes sense from a pvp perspective, but there is not a single ranger single target non-elite skill that deserves a nerf in pve. (triple shot not included, though thats arguable) AN should be buffing unused bow attacks, not nerfing those that are almost reasonable. The currect form that only causes bleeding is just stupid. Its essentially a ranged version of sever artery without gash to combo off of it. I sincerely hope arena net will do something to help those of us who like playing single target damage in pve. I agree that this needs a split. The removal of damage is a big issue, and the recharge increase also makes it not terribly useful as a condition spreader in the generally shortish fights in PvE. In its prior form, it was also a way for me to save space on my beastmaster build (giving me both a +damage and a conditional condition), where my slots are significantly more limited, but at this point I find it completely useless for that purpose and have dropped it from my bar. (And I'm hardly going to use my elite slot on Melandru's in lieu of taking a BM elite on that char.) Xylia 21:42, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
The least they could have done was make the damage conditional like on mendulu's.(Not that thats anywhere close to balanced for pve.} Kumlekar 06:17, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't understand why would any general PvE ranger spam anything other than splinter weapon and barrage on recharge, save for the occasional interrupt.Pika Fan 06:18, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Because people want more than one build to run?
People want that in PvP, too. ANet is just not good enough at balance to give two (or more) equally powerful builds using the same weapon or class, they have to imbalance one or the other. -Auron 22:52, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
I agree with the PvP/PvE split, why punish PvE players fo an OP PvP skill?-Linnes, June 22, 12:43 AM (EST).
