Defensive skills on a warrior are boring. I think the skill should just be reworked completely. P A R A S I T I C 17:44, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

So what happens when there comes someone around that actually wants to tank? No skills for him? I'm not saying tanks help anything since I generally play with all-caster groups when I do play pve, but there should be skills for those who do. — Galil Talk page 17:49, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
This is basically a pve skill. I don't think there's really any way I'd want this skill changed. Pluto 06:45, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

this has no use rather than running on PvE , no1 takes this over an elite attack skills , for tank i prefer other stuff like obsidian flesh tank than using this , this should really be totally reworked , it's just an elite version of endure pain 189.70.153.219 20:27, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

i realy like what they have done whit this skill its so uber. hoping they wont nerf it Oo redlord

Since this has been updated should it be counted as dealt with now or are the issues still there (I mean it's still defensive for example but it has at least been buffed)?
In my opinion it should be removed from the list; I've seen countless people using this in RA & Fort Aspenwood. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 17:47, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Agreed there is no issue here, its a nice skill and Warriors need more tanking potential anyway. It makes no sense for the class in plate armour to be unable to tank effectively. Mordax Praetorian
I agrea with Mordax Preatorian on this --Sethstijn 11:47, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Now that I have more time on my hands I thought I'd address some of the suggestions directly. Firstly, if you can't upkeep this, take an IAS skill, if you still can't upkeep this, pick another profession. Secondly, Defy Pain is powerful because you can upkeep it, giving the enemy an extra 250->300 health to carve through, giving you AL100 (assuming no other armour buffs), and a reasonable damage reduction, which imo is a very good trade for an elite slot. On its own it doesn't make you a tank, this is true, but it works very well as the core of a warrior tanking build. Mordax Praetorian 19:49, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

And it's overpowered in iway, where soft targets don't exist. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:14, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
this badly needs a nerf in PvP, one person shouldent be able to tank a ranger with a scythe, her dire pet, four luxon warriors, a siege turtle and other players, AND be able to kill said siege turtle and luxon warriors. (cant kill me, heal as one FTW)Githyan 14:25, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
The ranger should use throw dirt... please there are many many ways to kill a warrior in PvP using Defy pain... warrior still has his common weakness to Conditions (blind & Degen), Hexes (Say hello to armor ignoring damage well over your resistance) and life stealing (Incidious can mess you up)... Stop blaming this one skill four your specific builds inability to harm a strong warrior, stick to the casters and other soft targets and let your necros and mesmers and smite monks have a go at the defying warrior MrPaladin talk 17:03, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Ranger's especially have an easy way to deny defy pain wars. From throw dirt to whirling defense (if he cant touch you he can't get the adren.) The thing I don't get is why so many people have a hatred for this skill, earlier today some guy actually rage quit after yelling at me for 'doing nothing'/leeching. I understand that the war needs to kill, and that's exactly why this skill is awesome. It makes it so the war doesn't have to worry so much about healing (wars don't have a whole lot of options for doing so). For PVP at least i think this skill is just fine as it is.Sharpie 05:56, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
