Embark Beach 2.0[edit]

Update Embark Beach so that it requires little/no navigation to find the mostly commonly needed NPCs.

Overall
  • Dismantle the current villages for Cantha, Elona, and Consumables.
  • Change the arrival location to always be at the beach or in the area of the current Tyrian village.
Tyrian Village
  • Move the other two travel NPCs into the current Tyrian Village.
  • Remove all other NPCs (from this village) except for storage, merchant, or travel
Turn Canthan Village into the NPC market place
  • Move the 4 EotN consumable NPCs into this area.
  • Also move any of the NPC traders: Runes, Dyes, Scrolls, common mats, rare mats, ...
Turn Elona Village into other services
  • Add the seven storybook NPCs
  • Add the Bonus Mission Pack NPCs
  • Add the Kurzick and Luxon faction dealers.
Turn current Consumable mini-village into weapons and armor
  • Add the four EotN Armor crafters and four Eotn Weaponsmiths (these do not allow toons early access to their wares)

Background[edit]

Consider the primary uses for visiting Embark Beach:

  1. Gathering a party.
  2. Merching before/after an activity.
  3. Easy map travel without reforming parties of 6 or 8.
  4. Collecting Zaishen rewards or obtaining new challenges.

Also, the are common activities that cannot be performed in EB: transfering faction, turning in (or updating) story books, and crafting armor or weapons.

Currently, only (1)-(2) are simple; the others require extensive walking and/or searching for the correct NPC with cursor and/or hoping to spawn in a convenient location. In other words, right now, it's almost always more convenient to visit a Guild Hall and/or GToB for most activities. For map travel, reaching Tyria requires less effort by navigating via Kaineng Center → Boreal rather than using EB.
