To start off with, I just want to point out how utterly horrendous the current Dishonorable system is. For one thing, you need either a significant number of reports on a leech (or the leech standing still for a long period of time, and with the number of bots this is actually pretty uncommon) to give the leech dishonorable. Partly understandable, since the idea is to prevent abuse. However, that brings me to #2 - everyone that reports the target gets the same number of dishonorable points that they give to the leecher(s). Also partly understandable for the same reason - however, in arenas such as Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood, where it's not uncommon to get at least one leecher several games in a row (or at LEAST more than one leecher an hour, which is when points are reset), resulting in you actually gaining Dishonorable for reporting the leechers. The supposed fix that was done (removing dishonor points gained by reporters when at least 0.33 of your team reports the same person), actually does nothing. This means that people that are just trying to get rid of leeches end up getting dishonorable themselves.

Thirdly, Dishonorable points can stack up to one hour at most... and then reset. Why? Because after 1 hour of gaining no Dishonorable points, your account is wiped clean. EVEN THOUGH THEY SPENT THAT HOUR HEXED WITH DISHONORABLE. That's absolutely ridiculous. You keep people out for an hour at most and then they're right back in there? What? How does that even make any sense? People regularly leech to max Kurz/Lux titles and to various glad ranks (though I'd imagine those that actually get high in the title are fairly small because getting 5 wins with a 3-person team is - oh wait. Now you get points for EVERY win). And the most time they every spend not destroying their teams' chances of winning is one hour. Seems legit.

Now, most actual players already know all that. The fixes are each fairly simple but together practically ensure the removal of leechers from the game entirely.

To start with:

  • The Dishonorable point timer lasts twice as long as the number of Dishonorable points you have (minimum 30 minutes if you get 5+).
    • This means that someone that accumulates, say, 60 Dishonorable points, while getting hexed for one hour, they keep the points for two. So if they get reported again within the hour after they get hexed, they get Dishonorable for another hour (plus the time gained from the reports).
  • Players automatically receive 10 Dishonorable points if they are standing still for a consecutive 33% of a match. Standing still for 75% or more results in 20 Dishonorable points, loss of any faction/exp gained from the match, and automatic booting. Every consecutive round that this happens doubles the Dishonorable points a leecher gets.
  • Having at least 0.33 of your team reporting someone now correctly gives the reporters no Dishonorable points.
    • Having at least 0.66 of your team reporting someone now correctly strips them of any faction/exp gained during a match. Every consecutive round that this happens triples the Dishonorable points a leecher gets.
  • While hexed with Dishonorable, or while having 30 or more points on your account, you can't spend any faction, skill points, etc. Which brings me to...
    • When you attain 100 Dishonorable points, you are stripped of all faction, exp, skill points etc. and cannot gain any of these for the duration of the Dishonorable points on your account. A prompt will warn you when trying to enter PvP under this effect.
  • When an account reaches 250 Dishonorable points, that account receives a 72-hour ban from PvP and is flagged for permanent banning, if the GMs decide that it is a necessary punishment.
    • If an account is not permanently banned, they are put on probation for another 72-hour period. All Dishonorable point gains are doubled, and accumulation of a considerable number of Dishonorable points during this period results in an indefinite ban from PvP.

This gives severe punishment to repeat offenders while still keeping punishment minimal for those that lose connection (but discourages repeatedly entering with an extremely bad connection, as that is basically the same thing as leeching).
