Sanctum Cay Bug?[edit]

So this whole time it was a bug that made the mantle head right to where the vizier was going to pop up while doing the bonus? 69.230.51.253 00:37, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes, that bonus was fairly challenging to do (especially in HM). It's rather irresponsible to fix such a bug so damn late through the game's existence. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.70.253.188 (talk).
That was sarcasm, true? If what they fixed was that, then the fix actually made the mission harder, specially for all henchmen (solo) runs on hard mode. Triggering the mantle earlier actually made the mission easier to complete, since you could pull them out and not worry about keeping npcs alive.--Fighterdoken 00:52, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Well that makes me feel just awful about all the sweat and tears I shed getting that thing when Hard Mode first came out... Dang. 128.113.201.222 01:27, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Actually, it makes me feel good that I was eventually able to figure a way to do it w/H+H in HM. I haven't been near as lucky for Aurora Glade in HM. 66.170.212.17 01:58, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
The only way that ever worked reliably for me was to defeat all the Mantle attackers and then take the ghost to the grave, before getting on the boat. So I guess this update would actually make things easier for me :p -- Splodge of Cat 02:34, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Are you seriously going to tell me that that was a bug, I thought it was just part of the mission. And they waited this long to do something about it, something just doesn't add up here. Me thinks they are just trying to butter us up for somekind of let down yet to come...Passifis 03:40, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Well established by hundreds of forum and wiki users that they don't. --BriarUser Briar Sig 3.jpgThe Spider 03:51, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
If you have trouble with Aurora Glade or any mission 212.17, the best place to bring it up is on that mission's talk page. For Aurora, I used the method listed on the page and didn't have a problem with it. I can explain more on my own talk page if you need help with it. As far as Sanctum Cay being a bug, I followed the same procedure; I finished off the Mantle, took the ghost to his gravesite, and finally returned to ship to finish the mission. I didn't think it was actually a bug either. Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk
I used to think it was a bug until I found out you could kill all the White Mantle and THEN take the ghost to it's grave. It's weird to think a bug over 6 years old just got fixed. 04:53, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Briar, all bugs know to the GW community are found by the GW community. Anet never said 'so whe have some bugs, here, here and here'. And as you could see on the talkpage for sanctum cay there where people who wondered if the wintle mantle spawning during bonus before spawning vizier was intentional. And to think of it it kinda makes sense that it's a bug. second i don't care the bug was already six years in the game. Better late than never (i do agree that it would have been better sooner than later) RhoninUser Rhonin Soren sig.jpgSoren 14:40, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm wondering who won the Wintersday contest[edit]

Do you get an email or something? Or an Everlasting Reindeer Tonic just appears in your inventory? Is there a list of who won? 99.244.36.38 00:41, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Here's the list. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 00:44, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Melandru's Shot buffed, or wiki information wrong?[edit]

r0 MelShot's cripple duration now starts at 5 seconds. r9 is now 11 seconds. Either this was changed and not mentioned, or the wiki was wrong. Cheapy 01:00, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Wiki was wrong. 67.149.248.3 01:44, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

We're on the same thread, just different inroads... Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk
Have some patience please. First they have to announce the preliminary skill updates, which I believe will be somewhere around the week of the 14th Feb. Then, like the mesmer update last year, you have to wait 1 month for them to test/make changes/fix bugs etc. When they said early 2011, it means up to(and including) 30th June 2011. Canthan New Year 2011 has priority over everything else. 99.244.36.38 10:20, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
lolderp, cause liek, canthan new year actually has neewww content, all the time.herp /sarcasm--122.111.227.206 18:26, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah it does, new mini.

(Reset indent) SYSOP NOTICE - I shouldn't have to remind you guys that this still applies. I'll be nice and not block people for the discussion that has already taken place here, but do not continue this conversation. WhyUser talk:Why 11:11, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I assume you didn't lump the rest of us in with the two people who actually complained or that would be a humorous reading comprehension error. Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk
Of course not. Though it'd have been nice if y'all had ignored the topic in the first place. WhyUser talk:Why 14:22, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Pathing issues in Kamadan[edit]

As opposed to every single pathing issue in the EotN towns, such as all of Rata Sum and Gunnar's Hold, for starters. Honestly, I don't think I have ever noticed pathing issues in Kamadan outside of event npcs being poorly placed. 66.228.16.64 06:24, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I think that's a different kind of issue than what was fixed in Kamadan. The ones you're talking about happen because some of the NPC's in those town are on a pedestal or in an otherwise inaccessible area. So the pathfinding engine won't even try to build a path to them. In Kamadan, however, there was a problem with the pathnodes themselves as in rare cases when going down the set of stairs near the storage box your character first went down, then backtracked up to the top of the stairs with no reason, then down again. Or at least this was the first issue I thought of when reading the update notes. 78.92.1.106 07:44, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
I think the pathing issues the OP talks in EOTN towns about are not caused by NPCs being up on something. I think they're talking about when you try to path to somewhere, and you run into something else. Since this happens in GToB when they add new NPCs, I think it's that they're adding NPCs to the map, but not updating the grid that is used for pathfinding. And the pathfinding algorithm runs you straight into one of the items that is blocked and doesn't allow movement. 64.245.3.212 00:15, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Go to GToB and talk to Xunlai Chest. Then click(target) Merchant or Rune Trader. Press spacebar. You get stuck on Anatomical Engineer EVERY SINGLE TIME. 99.244.36.38 00:32, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Maybe they'll fix that bug in six years.... ;-) 69.179.144.93 14:25, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Actually, it's just because the Anatomist is sitting atop a stand, so the pathing engine odes not recognize it as an obstacle. Engine limitations, that's just it. --talk Large 14:46, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
baww.--83.82.62.210 15:47, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Except it happens in eotn towns on npcs standing on the ground, and non-interactive terrain bits too. 64.245.3.212 21:16, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
