Feedback talk:User/Kyoshi/Dueling
Id agree to that, though IDN if people would want dueling to happen within the game world. Perhaps as an arena type in PvP? THAT Id enjoy, just no betting for the outcome. That could lead to a possible type of illegal trade workaround.--Neithan Diniem 20:33, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- "though IDN if people would want dueling to happen within the game world." Why? If there's an auto-reject function I don't see why it would affect anyone who wouldn't want to be affected.
- "betting" I never mentioned betting. That would be silly; I just meant 1v1, maybe with a win/loss record per character or account. --Kyoshi (Talk) 20:56, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Some people might want PvP to remain outside of the PvE worldspace, though I have no problem with it. As for betting, a lot of games that have dueling also have stakes, thus whoever wins gets the pot. Was mentioning it juuust in case that was an unmentioned part of your idea. Im all for the dueling thing, its just with the current direction Arenanet is taking the game, It would probably get put in as a PvP arena in the mists.I would like it to be available at least there, but Id love if it were thrown in in the PvE worldspace. Keep it out of cities though, the guards wouldn't want that.--Neithan Diniem 23:09, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Dueling needs to make sense within the game world. I think there should be an option to "take it outside" while doing a bar brawl, and then you can have a proper fight with no bar environmental weapons (stools, mugs and stool legs). Unless the bar brawl is already practically a duel, then this is unnecessary. A benefit of duels happening in or outside of bars would be to make it an official dueling place for people to gather to socialize and be entertained by the duels. Guards put up with this because it is self-contained and if they attempted to stamp it out it the rowdy adventurers of the world would just have to make trouble elsewhere in the city. - Lion's Arch seems like a good place for it to happen. The guards are pretty lax there anyway. --ஸ Kyoshi 13:57, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
- I totally agree. Milkopilko 11:50, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- I think Dueling is a good idea and would have suggested it myself if no-one else had :). I understand some people don't like it, but if kept in Lion's Arch (as it has a gladiatorial arena anyway) it would be a cool distraction. You could even have leagues set up between guilds and individuals to make things a little more competative. I personally don't mind people dueling anywhere so long as it's not disrupting normal play, such as groups fighting over a merchant and making it difficult to see them (though this could potentially happen anyway without dueling). The other useful thing about dueling is to test your build or skill with other players before entering full on structured PvP content, though I guess World v World will help a little there. But I'm all for dueling and hope they implement some form of it. - Rin Aki 21:27, 26 May 2011 (GMT)
- Yeah, WvW or scrimmages could do the same for testing, if they still include scrimmages that is. --ஸ Kyoshi 01:54, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

I must support this simply because GW2 has guns. Duelling/1vs1PVP + guns = Wild West-style showdowns. :-D --Messenger 06:53, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
