Feedback talk:User/Previously Unsigned/Cartographer ideas (GW2)
Cartographer is not really useful as an achievement in an open environment, but that is not saying it is not possible. Technically, each "area" would need to be defined into subgroups (you wouldn't want to keep the entirety of Kryta as a single area. Think like this (Im making up facts here for examples): Kryta is divided into 20 subgroup areas, each laid out within the open world. You enter into these areas simply by walking around, no instances (similar to WoW). Each area would need a "fog of war" effect upon it, preferably something a little more discernible (easier to discriminate between the actual map and the fog). These areas would have an "exploration bar," (not title) that would show the current exploration progress in that area. Once an area has been fully explored, the title for Krytan exploration would go up by however much % that area contributes to the whole (bit more difficult to make it go up actively, but it is possible. This setup is for ease of understanding). When all of the 20 areas of Kryta have been explored fully, you will have the title for Krytan explorer. This title will then raise the exploration title for Tyria by whatever % that Kryta makes up out of the whole as well, with Tyria being divided up into however many groups.--Neithan Diniem 19:36, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- simply, keep the old style for the cartagarapher, just update it so that it's easier to use when you are doing it without texmodOcren
