I personally really like this idea! thumbs up! --80.121.88.0 02:01, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

I wish I had more hands so I can give this idea FOUR thumbs up! lol. Good idea. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 18:37, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I like this. Both of these achievements are viable in my opinion. --Adul 18:15, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Great Job! I really like the idea fo both titles (time to start lvling my pets incase it happens ^^) Yay Killing Charr talk 15:01, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Ooh! I like it! This gives you some reward for collecting all the pets, without throwing around all that "easy new title" business people like to whine about. And unlocking all elite and normal skills should absolutely get you something, too. These are "amazing feats" that do not necessarily require grind or unbelievably strange in-game behaviour! Go for it, Anet, please! --Isolina 05:18, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Other ideas[edit]

  1. I completely support the idea of adding trophies/statues for the missing gods. Abaddon gets one, but not Lyssa? ANet's lucky that the game's mesmers haven't gone on strike.
  2. I think it's fine that these too statues might be acquired by cash (Pet unlock kit) or zoins (pet unlocks). (Not ideal, but then I wouldn't have made pet unlocks a real money commodity in the first place.)
  3. The Melandru idea is perfect, all pets captured matches Big M's (ahem) nature perfectly, "...the patron goddess of Earth ...Dervishes, ...Elementalists and Rangers. She is ...honored by the Zaishen Menagerie. "
  4. In contrast, heroes don't have much to do with Lyssa, "...twin goddess of beauty and illusion. She is the patron goddess of assassins and mesmers. She is also associated with energy, chaos and the attributes of Energy Storage and Mysticism. She is greatly revered and celebrated in the Elonian region of Vabbi."
    • Eternal Bounty Hunter: We can easily honor assassination by adding a quest for tracking hard mode completion of e.g. all Zaishen Bounties and/or all Shining Blade Bounties. Very few people attempt them all.
    • Eternal Interrupter: We can less easily honor mesmers by adding a quest to track hard mode interruption of an appropriate laundry list of foes. Some examples might be:
      • All end-game foes (Lichie, Shiro, Abby, and TGD of ATFH).
      • All Zaishen bounty targets.
      • All dungeon end-bosses (well, boss-like foes).
      • A select group of bosses (e.g. for each campaign, one of each profession).

I look forward to seeing this one in-game.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:25, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Heroes were only a small part of my Lyssa req, plus now there isn't even a point in unlocking heroes, so they can be dropped altogether. The way I saw this connections was through Lyssa's multi-faceted nature: the more you have unlocked, the more options you have in what you can become, you basically unlock more facets for yourself.
Making it focus on assassination would piss off mesmers even more, and this is kind of a far-fetched connection to Lyssa, it's more about Zaishen. Also, the game does not track how many times you have completed a repeatable quest, if ever, so it would need a new mechanic.
The mesmer idea is also bad because many classes do not interrupt at all, making this achievement impossible for some classes without making some stupid kludge build just to have interrupts. Someone's Dervish main going mesmer secondary and trying to interrupt bosses? Ha! It would only really be accessible to mesmers and rangers, and I personally don't play much of either.
This one is tough, because Lyssa is about many things, and nothing really stands out, so picking one specific thing wouldn't do it justice. Some of the logical choices are also already taken. I also tried to stay away from needing new tracking mechanics that aren't in the game. That's why the full variety of available unlocks made sense to me, I can't really think of anything better that's not on another trophy already. Eh, good point about the interrupts. About focus on sins? Well, yeah, but it's not like Dervishes get any special love from a fully-stocked menagerie.
With regards to covering all SBBs or all ZBs: it just takes one specific quest to track as many targets as desired. (The programming doesn't need to directly connect the ZBs to the statue.)
Maybe beauty and illusion can be covered by getting one of each type of eligible armor set for the profession? Regardless, I hope to see the Melandru statue.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:47, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Armor was the first thing that comes to mind, but we already have and entire monument dedicated to that. Adding a trophy of Lyssa to Resilience, or an armor trophy to Honor would seem weird, either way.
As a necromancer, I still enjoyed collecting all the pets for my menagerie, and giving a unique one to each of my heroes (the latter I did before even a mention of the menagerie existed), so it's like an in-game pokemon of sorts, it's fun. :D I MUST HAVE THEM ALL! To a non-ranger, they're about just as useless as mini pets, so I don't see a problem there.
The game does not have any kind of quest that's able to track other quests, as far as I'm aware, outside of a linear progression, where it's a string of quests, and each one requires the previous. Even the recently implemented WiK "walkthrough" quest from Murro had trouble with that. They all track objectives, rather than quests. So, I could go out and kill all the objective bosses in one day, rather than having to catch the day with that specific bounty. Also, all of these bosses (or boss-like foes) are already an implicit requirement for other achievements, such as Protector, Master of the North, or vanquisher, and that's more synergy than I'm comfortable with. An achievement gained absolutely free just from working on other achievements is kind of unimpressive. On the other hand, even if the game was able to track the bounty quests completed, it would make this achievement about Zaishen more than anything, leaving little connection to Lyssa. So...[edit]

Where's Kormir's and Dhuum's statues? :P
I like the idea, btw, but I'm put off by the fact that you can pretty much buy almost everything of the suggestion with rl money. Not really an achievement. -- Konig/talk 06:57, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

You can buy a lot of things in this game, but you don't have to. I'm a bit... disappointed by the fact that so many people treat in-game store purchases like it's a plague of some sort. ANet has been very good about what they put in the store to keep the game fair to those who don't want to buy things. This is a business, and they are giving you options not to pay them and still have the things that most other players have (sans a few frills). A bit strange? Maybe. Do I like it? YES. User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 00:30, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not treating it like a plague. I'm treating having accomplishments - prizes - being something that you can buy. I agree that they've been very good about what was put in the store, but there's a difference between putting unlocking packs and costumes and putting something into the game that can be paid for completely.
Now, if you were to make it like the elite skill hunter title - where you have to get it on that very character, whether or not the account has unlocked it - then that would be a different story. But that would require reworking the menagerie's system, I do believe. -- Konig/talk 00:44, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Both could disregard in-game store purchases altogther, but UAX goes further than just skills, runes, insignias and mods. There's also PvP rewards that are required to be unlocked to attain UAX, which is not very viable as that would be unobtainable for newer accounts before the release of GW2, surely? (I mean, I have been playing since beta and I still am not even close to all PvP rewards being fully unlocked.)
The pet one is perfectly viable and should be a nice addition, to be honest. - Infinite - talk 01:03, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
