Feedback talk:User/Syncretic/Age
Nice idea, but still, I think that throwing age into the mix makes players frequently have to start a new character. I think the opposite should happen, as the player plays through the game, the character should become stronger and more fit. You could throw in degenerative fitness, so you can get out of shape, to get players to play more frequently, but I don't think age should really affect anything in the game negatively.--Bold Baby Undies 21:45, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not crazy about this concept. I've seen others make similar suggestions and it just doesn't agree with me. I really don't want my character to age. Also, your concept of the aging effecting how good a character is at certain things doesn't seem to be very balanced in the least. Plus GW's (and presumably GW2's) way of story telling for playable characters doesn't fit the concept of someone starting out as an older and more experienced adventurer. GW's way of telling a story is showing how the adventurer becomes that way. And while your idea, like the others I've seen with a similar concept, seem to imply that this is optional, it just still doesn't mesh well with how GW works. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I see it.--Will Greyhawk 15:31, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

- Making age into a decisive factor for character functionality is a poor idea, as it forces the developers to add another unchangeable layer to the character development stage that they players may find doesn't suit them. A person's age does not define how good they are at things, how good you are defines how well you remain in your older age (if you take a Psychology class, you will learn about aging and its effects on the mind and body). If age exists in the game, it should be a purely visual effect. Anything more would vastly hinder the movement of the story.--Neithan Diniem 20:04, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

I agree too, i mean, i have made a suggestion for having an age selection for your character (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feedback:User/Jimmer123/Character_Creation_-_Age) but its mainly aesthetic, chosen at creation and doesnt change. Just to add some variety to the faces you see around the place ----Jimmer123 22:28, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Age simply as an appearance would be fine, but age also as a factor in how your character fights? No. People would be like "Oh, I want my character to look young, but for x to be where I want it I must make an older looking character" and then be disappointed because the character doesn't look how they truly wanted it to look all because of stat benefits. ~Cookies~ 18:39, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
