Feedback talk:User/Vanguard/Auction System
It's as impossible for Anet to make an auction house as it is for me to make one for NWN, or for Anet to make a hairstylist, or for Anet to scale Backbreaker's KD duration. GW needs an auction house more than anything, and we all know they could do it if they put themselves to it, as they've proven before. ~Shard 02:15, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Precisely. I named three different methods to impliment one, and there are no doubt more. It's just a matter of picking one.-- anguard 02:17, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I've always wanted one of these.--Unendingfear 02:58, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- There's already an outpost, they just need to finalize it and publish... See! --Alex Eternal 11:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- I've played Silk Road and Hero Online which both have this feature. And i just love it! I don't see why there shouldn't be one in Guild Wars as well. Even Runescape has a variety of it :S - J.P.Talk 12:27, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- What's the best way for PvP players to sell the items they get in the HoH and Zaishen chests while they play? Woops, there is none. Whatever the way, that must be fixed. MithTalk 05:53, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- I really wish Anet had implemented that "Xunlai Marketplace" located south of GToB when they implemented Zaishen Menagerie; would have solved this issue. --Falconeye 02:49, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

It is my opinion that every MMOG should implement an auction house system after the fashion of EverQuest or WoW. Player-owned shops, on the other hand, are a substantial problem that should be eliminated from every game out there. The reason this is the case is that auction house systems allow for searching for specific items and purchasing of those items with ease and at the lowest available price. This has several effects:
- It reduces the possibility of scamming (though it does not completely eliminate it)
- It keeps prices lower because there is increased price competition
- It allows players to sell items without having to be logged in and without interfering with normal play time, and this in turn reduces the possibility of AFK Shops being logged in and taking up server resources
- It does not create graphical lag in populated areas in the same way that player-owned shops does
- It eliminates the need to travel to multiple major trading regions to try and find an item or a buyer
- It reduces chat channel spamming
In my opinion, those are all good things. --Kyouchou242 21:26, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
