Feedback talk:User/Volfen/Hard Mode Servers
I like the idea of a server for HM, because it seems to be the only way to incorporate it atm, but I, and i expect Anet too actually, dont like the idea of having to pay for it. It means you have to pay to keep playing your character once youre done with "normal mode." Anet have said many times that they dont want players to feel like they have to pay money to play the game properly. (saying that though, look at GW1, people missing even one campaign have a serious disadvantage to those with all) --Jimmer123 09:34, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Good point. It only makes sense, once at max level, players can move freely between servers. --Volfen 08:54, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
I dont think taking away traits is a good idea, traits are for custmizing skills and they require the most skill to master. Traits dont make skills better they make them different and make up for the fact that there is less skills in gw2.--121.222.101.203 03:08, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Traits modify skills in that it adds additional functionality or modifies existing ones. They are just the third demension to the skill system: The skill in question, the attribute points in the skill's attribute, the trait added to the attribute to modify all that attribute's skills. Also, the HM server would be free to transpher to once you hit max level. Starting a new character there is what you would pay for.--Neithan Diniem 04:15, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- The suggestion intends you would still have to 'find' aquire traits/skills etc. So they'd still be available, you just can't buy them as you would buy a HM Character Slot (max level character). --Volfen 13:53, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
It seems like an easier way to accomplish the goals of the Hard Mode servers would be to simply remove levels and move to a relatively flat skill-learning and traits-based progression system. My guess is that you're hoping for a way to play the game in a way that rewards skill instead of stat grind and doesn't make your max-level characters useless upon game completion, not find an excuse to pay extra money to Anet for the game they should be making in the first place. Am I right? --Silverdawn 21:27, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Correct Silverdawn, but why not make money while making the game they should have made in the first place.--Volfen 16:25, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
