I think what would fit perfectly with the lore is an Asura assistive golem. Guild Wars 3 perhaps 00:27, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

There will be on the one side guys like you (i meen Wheels, not perhaps), which would prefer to make disabilities something more normal in games, but also on the other side such ones, which would say, it is not right to do so, especially with the for sure hilarious looking dodgemoves. I dont think, Anet will bring them into the game, especially, if they wont get any granted benefit for it.
I personally think, Wheels dont fit in the game, after all the creatures in GW2 come without any wounds or disabilities, they also miss any ugly people, they are all like perfect beautys(, although not my taste ;)... There are many games, where i think a wheel would fit in, but it dont fit for a strongly moving/fighting charakter, if the game takes itself earnest (means, it fits for each game, where the wheels are used realistic, or in games, where at least can be spoken from tastless humor like skating in a wheel). I dont now, if you can play the beta, but if you have seen the dodges and fast running, im sure you also cant imagine good looking moves in a wheel for the dymaic combat. --Naruuu 01:35, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
I agree with you about the Wheels not fitting in the game. That's why I had suggested the Asura Assistive Golem ("AAG" for short). Imagine a single giant stone marble, free to rotate in any direction. Now put a chair on it with a concave under-carriage that fits the curvature of the giant marble. The chair floats just millimeters above the giant marble using the same energy/magic that the Asura use to float all their stone structures in Rata Sum. Sit the player on the chair. Give them a headpiece with some Asura gems embedded in it which controls the marble's rotation. Now they can get around quite easily anywhere they want with full freedom of motion. They can even dodge.
The dodge isn't the acrobatic cartwheels and summersaults of the other characters; but it doesn't have to be. Their AAG just quickly rolls left, right, forward, or back to dodge; probably with the seated character leaning hard in the direction of the dodge/roll. It wouldn't look hilarious at all; would look pretty cool, actually. Not all golems have to be anthropomorphic or humanoid-looking with two arms, two legs, and a head. It's a stone robot; it looks like whatever it has to look like to get the job done.
If we're going to suspend disbelief to permit dragons, magic spells, stone automatons, diminutive subterranean rabbit-gecko geniuses, and talking humanoid felines, why not a mentally-linked giant marble for a wheelchair?
As far as the creatures aesthetics, I - and many other people - would love to see options for scars, old war wounds, and "ugly" options. My monk in GW1 looks like a grizzled Chow Yun-Fat. Definitely not GQ material; but no denying he definitely has a unique look with lots of character. Beats all the baby-faced, smooth-skinned clones running around. I think the characters should be more ranged based (especially for humans because they do not have the tech like the Asura do) but for the Asura it would work for warrior as well. What I was thinking from the beginning was that the engineer would have a mode of transportation and as part of the story one that he created which is why he/she is so good at building and using tech. This does not necessarily mean wheels I was partly thinking a spider chair hybrid that allows the character to do all the things other characters can do and it would fit the lore.
I think that in order to keep it good for the lore then you would have to make it only available to races and professions that make sense. For example, a human warrior could not be disabled because of the fact that humans don't generally have the tech to do it but a human engineer/inventor would make sense because they could invent the technology. Also the magic users could be disabled because they can use their individual types of magic to keep something floating that they are in like a hover chair type thought. Humans already have the reputation in the lore of fighting through diversity so they would be a perfect candidate for this. The Charr are too war like for them to have focused on making disabled Charr able to be useful. The Sylvari are a young race and the anatomy is different so I am not sure how they work in healing aspect. The Norn couldn't be disabled and live do to their life style and hardships. This leaves only Humans and Asura as fitting in the lore and no human warriors, rangers, or thiefs fit.
But only Human and Asura make sense for them to have disabled characters so it would be limited. I am aware of the potential negatives of doing this like people who aren't in wheelchairs using the characters and making fun of them but that is the negative of equality. Some people play as women and act the quintessential stereotypes of women. The same can be said for every minority in games including skin color but this would be the first game I am aware of that would have people in wheelchairs which would be a huge step in the game industry in being able to make an avatar that represents you albeit with magical or supernatural powers. For ANet this would be an amazing publicity move to get more people looking at their software. While this may not be a major reward for ANet the industry as a whole may adopt the practice of making disabled character available in some games which in my humble opinion would be awesome, though I do realize that it doesn't always fit into the lore. A spider chair would be really cool! Guild Wars 3 perhaps 17:04, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
I can't imagine wheelchairs or crutches and the like making it into the game. I do wish prosthetic arms (we have lore that the asura can, from time to time, make prosthetic limbs) would be in the game though. Konig/talk 19:33, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

I think it is a great idea. Maybe issues can arise when swimming (jumping out of the chair and carrying it in a bag?). The main problem for Arenanet is that every gameplay concept would have to be checked. Agaetis RosAssassin 09:08, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Or the legs of Wheels9675's spider chair suggestion stiffen, sticking out at right angles from the chair. The ring at the base of the chair to which they're attached then begins to spin. Instant propeller! Guild Wars 3 perhaps 22:18, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, but this really isn't viable. It would be a pretty big work load for Anet, and would be really hard to explain, even with Perhaps' golem.--Will Greyhawk 04:11, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
