Guidelines[edit]

I am NOT saying all Greens should be put into the Hall of Monuments, ONLY the ones you get from Grahame (Commemorative Weapons). Or in other words the War in Kryta commemorative greens.

The greens from Grahame are NOT farmable. They cost 10 Medals of Honor just like the Oppressor Weapons.

I disagree[edit]

The commemorative greens are not a set, nor do they follow the pattern of the other weapons allowed in the HoM. No other green weapons are allowed, why should these? It's not as though you are unable to purchase Oppressor weapons from others, or even earn enough Medals of Honor doing the daily quests (or even repeating the WiK content on another character) to get one. I mean, it's not as though you have to do this by tomorrow or anything, you will get the reward point whenever you unlock the point, ongoing even after GW2 is released. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 22:58, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Indeed, the HoM is retroactive. I will also assume you traded 10 MoH's for a Green item... You chose to get a fully modded weapon rather than a naked gold weapon. If they were to include the Green items from WiK, they would have to include greens from EotN and Nightfall (and eventually Cantha). Now THAT would be unfair to the people who already filled their Monuments with expensive Torment and Destroyer weapons. FleshAndFaith 00:01, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
If I might expand on the above: gold weapons represent a more significant investment of personality and effort since players take the time to mod them to their own specifications. Green weapons are zero-risk and mass produced, which is why people on a budget farm them. Furthermore, you weren't "scammed" into buying a Commemorative Weapon as you claim. If you didn't take the time to look around for other collectors before trading in your medals, especially since they were lined up in front of you after you finished the BLA, it's your own fault. --Irgendwer 08:55, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

But the green weapons in question aren't weapons that can be farmed. They are obtained from the exact same place for the exact same amount of medals. We are only talking about green weapons that can be obtained from Grahame.

I'm not saying they can be farmed, just that the same principle applies: you can spend your time grinding for a weapon with fixed, guaranteed stats, fresh off the assembly line, or you can pick a skin and take the time to mod it into your ideal weapon yourself. If both can be obtained "from the exact same place for the exact same amount of medals," one clearly represents a greater and more personal investment. --Irgendwer 17:03, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I have to disagree, I still see no viable reason for why the Commemorative greens shouldn't be added to the HoM. They could at least add a sell-back option so that we could get our 10 medals back. (The sell-back option would not work for dedicated/customized weapons for obvious reasons)
The "sell back" option is called GWGuru Auction. Simply sell your green and buy an oppressor's weapon. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 18:12, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
If there is someone that wants to buy my green for the price of an oppressor weapon they can go ahead. But the problem goes back to Oppressors in the HoM, that spiked their price! It almost seems like ANet is punishing people for immersing themselves in the lore and choosing a weapon used by one of the actual characters - shame on us!
You are being punished young man! Here is a fully modded item with a cool skin. FleshAndFaith 01:15, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

I did'nt complete WiK for any other reason other than to put the oppressor weapons into my HoM. I did'nt really care if it was modded or not as I would just place it in and move on with my HoM completion. The Oppressor collectors are not apparent when you finish the mission. Only Grahame is. He is right infront of your face during the victory speech, and if you make your way back to the keep, he is right there on the same level as the War supply converters. The Oppressor weapons NPC's are UP THE HILL to the left outside of where all the NPC's are. Also I don't know why everyone is saying if these greens get in, a slippery slope of OMG let all the greens in is going to need to happen. Are there Junk destroyer greens that cost the same as golden destroyer weapons and don't go in the HoM? Are there green Tormented weapons that cost the same gems and gold tormented weapons that don't go into the HoM? Grahame's green's took the same effort to get as the Oppressor weapons and they cost the SAME. I don't care what the weapon looks like or if it had junk stats. A sell back would be nice, I don't really care as long as I get a HoM credit for it.--WhoI 02:38, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

I agree![edit]

Personally I accidentally purchased one of the greens from Grahame (A WiK green NOT an endgame green) and I was okay with that since the weapons were purely for looks back then. Now that you can put Oppressor weapons in the HoM that changes everything. I don't see why we should not be able to display or at least exchange the green weapons that we put in the same amount of effort for. Additionally I see no reason why greens from EotN and Nightfall would have to be added as well, there isn't a set rulebook that says, "if you add x, you must also add y".

But if they change the HoM to include every end-game green, how is that fair to the people who filled their halls with the ultra-expensive Tormented and semi-expensive (now they are super expensive) Destroyer weapons? You say it's not fair cause you can't display a green weapon you got, but consider the people who spent several days in DoA getting armbraces. That would considerably cheapen the time they spent earning the ugly things. FleshAndFaith 16:34, 16 October 2010 (UTC)w

Argh reading comprehension! I'm saying there's no reason that endgame greens should be added.
