We created Azure Phoenixes almost immediately after our first characters left pre-Searing at the start of 2009. Mayhem and Malory are the only two members and do not recruit. Among the guild's accomplishments, we "hosted" two Canthan New Year feasts in 2010 when the member of the guild that was actually hosting could not get into the district. All ingredients were provided and the Celestial Tiger was pleased -- so pleased that Malory received two celestial tiger minis, one of which she graciously gave Mayhem. Malory so wanted her first celestial mini in 2009 and Mayhem and Malory worked hard to get to Shing Jea from the Prophecies campaign in time for the festival. She finally got a celestial ox, on her very last open. Mayhem, it should be noted, was not so favored by the celestials.
Each player has a large stable of characters (and Xunlai storage chests that are bursting), but Malory and Mayhem are the reigning royalty and forever shall be. They have been through so much and learned so many things together, and then passed that knowledge on to the other characters. Malory and Mayhem achieved GWAMM before their second birthdays (and are now working on their third set of GWAMMs). They have played the game as envisioned by the designers, without ever being run or taking shortcuts. They continue to find new aspects to admire and enjoy in Guild Wars, a game which has given them many, many hours of entertainment. The ingenuity, beauty, humor, attention to detail, and earnest attempts at balanced play are all very much appreciated. Capping levels at 20 and limiting skills to eight were huge risks in a game, but they have turned out to be masterstrokes, requiring concentration on strategy and tactics instead of a painful grind.
