Court of Ascalon [CoA] was founded by Tinuviel Cuthalion in the early days of Guild Wars. Several long term members were appointed to officer positions and membership remained static through much of the guilds existence. The Court of Ascalon was one of the very first guilds to sport the ever popular [CoA] guild tag.
Membership was maintained through efforts made by leadership to befriend each and every member. In fact, most members were on a first name basis and would typically plan activities together. Activities ranged from exploring elite areas such as Tombs and Sorrows Furnace to helping other members get characters through missions.
An unfortunate difference in opinion on the direction the guild should take when Factions was released caused the splintering of the newly forged Court of Ascalon Alliance and membership however despite set-back such as this, the Court of Ascalon remained strong.
As tribute to the manner in which this guild was lead, a recent conversation with a former member revealed that many people associated with this guild remember each other not by character name but by the players real name.
