The Grauniads of Old Devotion [GoOD] is a guild committed to a friendly, cooperative and intellectual style of adventuring. We are based in the UK and the mis-spelling of "Guardian" comes from a satricial nickname for the well-respected Guardian broadsheet.
The guild was founded in 2006 to help people distinguish more thoughful players, who were possible older and well-read. Recently the guild master went on an extended sabbatical from Tyria leaving the guild in the capable hands of a now former member.
Our guildhall on the Burning Isle is complete. A haven of tranquility away from the noise and hustle of the major towns, a where Grauniads take stock of things before they launch themselves again into the pell-mell of adventuring and saving the world.
Breaking News: The Grauniads are now a Luxon Guild.
Recruitment
The Grauniads don't seek to recruit people by the buckload. Instead we want people who will be a credit to the guild and an exemplar of fair play.
You don't have to be cool, elite or very experienced to join this guild. We seek level-headed heroes who can uphold the good name of the guild, who possess the inclination to think through problems and who have the ability to be polite under pressure.
We expect members to work dilligently through the game, asking for help when they become stuck but always trying not to become too dependent on it. When we reach a critical mass of experienced players some kind of PvP and GvG could be on the table but we'll not rush into it.
Applicants should also be literate enough to read The Guardian newspaper, wise enough to have read the GuildWars manuals and polite enough to treat new players kindly!
If you contact a the guild master, Pious, in-game then tell him you've found about the guild via this wiki page and why you want to join.
