History
The History of DAWN in the words of Corbino.
Creation (c. 2008)
On the first day, Archgod formed DAWN, the alliance, and all that was and will be.
On the second day, he gathered his Generals, Sigma, Mike and Cloud.
On the third day, Sigma, in his great power, created the Ventrilo and the forum.
On the fourth day, Archgod said, “LET DAWN BE GREAT” and it was.
And on the weekend, there was rest.
The First Age of DAWN (c. mid 2008)
In this time there was a great lifting of faith in Archgod, with new followers by the day, some most famous include Corbino, Bestial Fury, and Julia.
Time went on as usual for a great time, new followers, more faction points, and the great banner of DAWN was erected displaying a glorious golden eye with holy flames below it, although it has changed as generations passed.
The Cataclysm (c. winter 2008)
At The peak of The First Age, a Wintersday celebration was held. some of Archgod’s closest disciples were present, Cloud, Corbino, Bestial Fury, Sigma, Julia, even Archgod himself!
But this would be last of the celebrations for a while, after this celebration Archgod’s presence was less frequent. So without leadership, the officers began recruiting less, members didn't get on as much and many followers abandoned the alliance. Some of these men and women had been followers since beginning. This looked like the end of DAWN.
The Recovery (c. early 2009)
Archgod’s last and closest disciple, Sigma sent widespread word of Archgod’s power to all that had once followed him in one last attempt to save DAWN.
The message worked! All of Archgod’s disciples except for Bestial Fury had returned and restored DAWN to its former glory, leading to the Post-Recovery Era.
Post-Recovery Era (c. summer 2009)
This was another time of prosperity and growth for DAWN, more members, more faction points, and the addition of two new realms that turned their eyes to the power of Archgod and DAWN. The realm of World of Warcraft, led by the disciple Sedalara, and the realm of EVE, led by the disciple Sigma.
The Julia Exodus (c. midsummer 2009)
Like in earlier times, all good things must come to an end. A long time disciple of Archgod, Julia, believed she deserved more power than she had. She even felt insulted that Archgod had not already given her this power. To gain what she wanted, she gathered her closest followers to go against Archgod and ruin DAWN. Her and six soldiers of OW went off to complete their mission, but were crushed by the holy might of Archgod's army of DAWN.
Julia, along with her close followers Crabman, Goober boy, Aluminous, Soup, Tidus, and Ryan, had betrayed Archgod and DAWN and so were forced to leave. As they left, they mocked him and his followers. They forever were labeled heretics and banished from DAWN, the vent, forum, and alliance.
Post-Julia Era (c. late summer 2009)
With Julia and her followers gone, a new time of glory washed over DAWN. As apart of this new time of glory, the disciples, Ian, Underworld Misery, and Astaroth Mitz were ascended to spread the word of Archgod. Unfortunately, Cloud, a long time disciple, was descended from his seat and now lives on simply as a humble member of DAWN.
Relaxation Era (early fall 2009)
School is now in session, this means a lot of members of DAWN now not only see DAWN as a community for growth, greatness, and battle, but also for escape, and relaxation.
Thanks to Dawn (not DAWN) many members, n00b and pr0zor alike, have come flocking to serve Archgod's will, giving veterans flashbacks of the past victories of DAWN.
With this flood of new followers came a familiar face. Bestial Spiral had returned! He was greeted with great welcome from those who knew him and those who soon would.
Along with Bestial came yet another long-lost member, Tidus. Although he did leave with the heretics of Julia, Archgod, in his glorious grace, forgave Tidus and aloud him to return.
Feats like those of the officer Dawn also made good cause for the first officer awards! Many awards were given to those deserving: Alienator Flash, Cloud, Kyla Revenant, Zaria Magna, Drizzit Dro Druden, Corbino the Archer, The Milos, Sigma, Archgod, Blane, Kris/Naruto, Underworld Misery, Dawn of Wonderland, and Kyla Revenant.
In these bright times, a welcomed time of darkness is creeping towards DAWN. This darkness can only be summed up in one horrifying yet brilliant word. HALLOWEEN!
Halloween Event (Oct 31, 2009)
Archgod, his followers, and his disciples all came together to celebrate the greatest and darkest celebration of the year. There was enough music, events, prizes, drinks, and sweets to get you your fill for months!
Although, as history repeats itself, most bright times in DAWN lead to very dark times.
The Fallout (c. late Fall 2009)
There has always been some kind of tension between all people online (although some don't want to admit it), but, in just a two day period, tensions in DAWN reached their breaking point.
It started out innocent, two people just messing around, but names began being thrown around. At this, people got defensive and even hostile towards each other. Before violence ensued, Archgod blessed DAWN with his intervention. With the help of Sigma the violence stopped. Unfortunately, some believed the scar from this event would stay, so they left.
In these two days, six members, including Ronoc and Nova, and two officers, Thumper and Dawn left DAWN in such a way that led many to believe they'd never be heard from again.
After this event, those who were still loyal to Archgod began to work to make DAWN a better guild, but no one knew then, what lie in store for the future.
Wintersday 2009
Business went on in the normal Wintersday fashion: people wandered, farmed, gave away presents, and so forth.
Unlike past Wintersdays, although, DAWN stayed strong and prosperous into the next year and into a new age of DAWN.
The Second Age of DAWN (2010-present)
In this new age, DAWN becomes more and more powerful.
The second Guild War was approaching and the stirring Dragons could be felt from all over, but the roar of DAWN was even more dominant. Archgod's following grew to a size previously thought impossible, the alliance was more active than ever before and DAWN, although not the leader of the alliance, was the prominent Guild in both faction and activity.
This new age and these prosperous times instilled a very positive outlook in the members of DAWN in relation to its future as an alliance.
The Scattered Era (c. early 2010)
During this time, people realized that DAWN's success would become its downfall.
After years of prosperity in Guild Wars, people, especially members of DAWN, began to realize that they had completed everything there is to do. As a result, they began to yearn for new challenges. This soon led to the people of DAWN to scatter amongst different games such as Perfect World, WoW, HoN, and Aion. Guild Wars, unfortunately, was cast aside. Once the last of Archgod's deciples stopped playing Guild Wars, it was mutually decided to temporarily disband the Guild Wars' Guild until the release of Guild Wars 2.
Luckily, the followers of DAWN remained faithful, continued actively talking on vent, posting on the forum, and playing non-Guild Wars games together. This activity showed that although we were not a guild in Guild Wars anymore, we were still followers of Archgod and members of the DAWN community.
Even with this "set back" DAWN's so far successful campaign to conquer the online world will continue with no plans to ever stop. This idea that DAWN will recover from the loss of Guild Wars is solidified by the addition of a new forum, which will keep us united and act as a communication hub until we find our target to conquer.
The Reunification (c. early-mid 2010)
This event was huge for DAWN and consisted of many reforms that led to a reuniting of DAWN under The Glory of Archgod and his greatest follower, Sigma. The reforms were slow to develop and happened in many different periods, so they will be listed.
-Established the Senior Captain rank -Voted Thumper and Lovebug back into the community. -Began regular meetings, a podcast, and a secret project that will be used to further express the glory of DAWN. -Began the search for new worlds to conquer. -Added the rank of Task Manager. -Began discussions of promotions, new laws, and new officer requirements. -Stepped up recruiting.
These reforms led to a great reunification within DAWN and sent DAWN into a new era of prosperity
The Era of the Lord of the Forsaken Rings. (c. Mid 2010 - present)
This new era in the history of DAWN began with the introduction of The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO). This new, unexplored world of Middle Earth was ripe for the picking when DAWN began to establish a new guild there. This game brought countless new followers under the Glory of Archgod, including Rabid Tacy and Gwinyn who would soon become key members in LOTRO and the community.
Next, yet another world was introduced to the members of DAWN. It was a vast world made souly of cubes and completely uninhabited by humans. Archgod and Sigma quickly established a base of operations and soon began spreading. Archgod, in his infinite glory, constructed Archagon, a massive fortress built into a mountain, truly a testament to his and DAWN's might. Sigma soon followed with his own creations and eventually Corbino arrived and also built structures worthy of DAWN. This world is dangerous and only mere miles have been explored, but no challenge is too great for DAWN.
Finally, a third world, a world that has long since been forsaken by its gods and rightly named: Forsaken World. This expansive world full of all kinds of humanoids and monsters is the source of many, many active recruits. This world must also have some value beyond our grasp for the mighty Archgod gave special attention to the establishment of DAWN in this "Forsaken World". The guild is ever expanding with no signs of stopping. God help those in its way.
Just as it was in past times of prosperity, there have been conflicts and arguments amongst both members and officers alike, but Archgod, with the help of his disciples, solved these problems and prevented any drastic escalations.
This new era was formed by new changes and resulted in many more. Though there were conflicts and arguments, they cannot take away from the immense growth and expansion on both old and new frontiers. DAWN has once again come from the brink into prosperity. DAWN has shown time and time again that it cannot be stopped and will not stop until it has become the ultimate power in the online world. Archgod, although he has not spoken it, has made his message clear: Welcome to our friends and good luck to our enemies, for a new DAWN has risen and dusk may never come.
