The Ubiquitous Blasphemous Cult or UBC guild started shortly after the initial release of the game, Guild Wars. The guild was originally created as a method for easing party formation. The initial members only involved those belong to the University of British Columbia (in Canada). It soon grew to encompass a number of players who shared an interest in casual gameplay and clean gaming environment.
While the UBC guild actively tries to be as inclusive as possible, we do actively screen out potential members and active members who interfere or disrupt the enjoyment of guild members. We accomplish this aforementioned clean environment through monitoring by a number of conscientious officers and an interview process before for all new members.
Recruitment
Although the recruitment requirements for the UBC guild are quite lax, we do actively interview all potential members to try and screen out problem players. Once accepted, the new guildmate will find that there are a few simple rules. These rules are entirely to ensure the enjoyment of all guild members. Therefore, the rules are enforced strictly, especially in the general guild chat. Below I will try to explain the interview process and guild rules.
The interview process consists of a short 10-20 minute interview done by one of the senior guild officers. During this interview, the officer will take the interviewee on a quest either needed by the interviewee or the officer. This interview is merely used as a measure of the playstyle and the attitude of the player.
Rules
1. You will know your inside voice and your outside voice. You will use this voice where appropriate. (i.e. You would never hurl racist slur in public)
2. You will try and help any newer players (guild members or not), because you know that, at some point, you were a "newbie" too.
