Forgive my impulsive behaivor, but is this a joke? do people even take bureaucrat elections seriously anymore, or are they just popularity contests? Is this really a reason you nominated Grinsh, because of his stories that have nothing do do with anything in the wiki? These stories shouldnt even be on the bloody wiki, let alone be used as bloody reasons here! Unless I get a serious answer to this, this will go up for speedy deletion, or so help me I can be blocked for a week. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 23:01, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Mostly, the nomitation phase is a "joke phase", where you can pretty much nominate yourself under the grounds of "because it's thursday". Things change a little at the voting phase (where this becomes a "popularity" contest mostly), and only get really serious once the decision round starts. All in all, things manage to work somehow, so i see no need to speedy del it, since the user has to confirm the nomination anyways (and he could accept it for reasons totally unrelated to the nomination).--Fighterdoken 23:07, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) He posts good stories and is a smart person. He would make an excellent bcrat. — Teh Uber Pwnzer 23:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank god....I thought this wiki was starting to go downhill. Sometimes I wonder about some people.....--User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 23:09, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Agnostic actually, but that's beside the point. Would "Oy ve iz mir" have been more appropriate? User Defiant Elements Sig Image.JPG *Defiant Elements* +talk 23:17, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Ignorant of the community, hasn't participated in pretty much any content/policy discussions on a serious level, and is a troll. Last point isn't bad by itself, but combined with the first two... -Auron 00:54, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Request To Void This[edit]

I am prob. just shooting in the air here, but I think this should be voided. User:Mgrinshpon did not accept, another user with Mgrinshpon in his usernmae accepted. Therefore, imho the acception comment should either be removed or this should be voided entirely. We have no idea if this other user is really Mgrinshpon. --Shadowphoenix Please, talk to me; I'm so lonley ;-; 15:54, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I 2nd that void...68.151.27.108 15:55, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Another agreement here. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 15:58, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I do declare you people should realize they are the same people. They both write good stories. Which means they are the same person. I don't see anyone else writing half as good of stories as him/them. 70.126.107.48 16:27, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
The stories are not the reason we're requesting a void. its the fact that we do not know whether Mgrinshpon even accepted, or whether someone created a fake account posing as him to accept. If you really want an argument about the stories, check the admin noticeboard archives. I refuse to restate anything about those foolish lies. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 16:32, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Technically, he doesn't have to. And since it's pretty likely to be him, I see no reason to void. It's going to be one of the more "epic failures" on the wiki anyway, so why bother? Backsword 16:43, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Well voiding it was one option, but the other is to remove the comment which seems more suitable to me. As for the pointlessness of it, yeah it is kind of pointless, but he is not the canidate thus, cannot accept (canidate was User:Mgrinshpon not User:Mgrinshpon: the Jewish Knight) --Shadowphoenix Please, talk to me; I'm so lonley ;-; 16:46, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
As Guild Wars Wiki:Adminship says any user "in good standing may run for an open position", User:Mgrinshpon would be ineligible for candidacy, seeing as he's blocked and all. I'm not going to press for the annihilation of this particular candidacy because it's obviously going to fail like every other joke nomination, but technically this can be rendered void. --Pling! \ Brains12 \ Talk 16:53, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Damn took too long to type. Anyway since Brains has already mentioned what I was going to say in his first sentence there's really no reason to repeat. Although there is no definite way to determine whether it was him that accepted I don't feel strongly enough in this situation to completely agree or disagree with voiding it. I'd say just let it run it's course even though we already have a pretty good idea of the result already. --Kakarot Talk 17:00, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Why[edit]

Are people voting on a candidate who declined? Lord of all tyria 18:06, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
