I just wanted to post a comment here I found on Linsey page in case anyone else was interested: They were in the Nightfall Preview as a charmable pet, but for technical reasons we weren't able to include them as a charmable pet in the full game. But still a great model! So I thought it would be nice to have them fightable in at least one zone. - Linsey 04:16, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Hard mode

Do these only appear in hard mode or have they only been observed to appear in hard mode? It would make sense, since if thery were in normal mode their level would be low enough for them to be charmable... --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Santax .

well, if they were a charmable animal, they wouldn't normally use skills and be lvl 5 in hm as well. I actually thought Pygmy Hippopotamus was removed from the game because of graphical issues. (the page says it got removed as it was a model or skeleton that was only useful for the hippo). —ZerphaThe Improver 14:25, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Now, this may sound dumb, but if they have no issues implementing the model as an enemy character, surely the same could be done for it as a charmable pet? If it wasa problem with scaling as it evolves, surely just make it another fixed-size pet? This also rules out the speculation that the removal was due to their status as 'endangered'. Methinks ANet said that all existing pets use the same animation skeleton. Well, Melandru's Stalkers, Lynxs, etc definitely use the same skeleton - same for Flamingoes and Moa Birds. Basically they're too lazy to make new animations for a pet? Eldin 03:16, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Drops

Do these guys have any observed drops? I have fought plenty and haven't seen one drop. ‎ Scar 19:04, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

They dropped festive items for me, I got one ToT bag out of the whole lot, but haven't observed any other drops from them. My guess would be no. Either that or Arbor Bay is farmed more often than I give credit for. Hannahismee 17:54, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
