Pictures[edit]

We could use a better picture of the non reforming state, one not taking damage. The Holy Llama 18:50, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

Boss[edit]

Kay, so, the article notes link to wikipedia and say something about this not "technically" being a boss, yet we have it listed as one (construct bosses, mes bosses, para bosses, etc). Is the notes section wrong and in need of removal, or are the category tags wrong? If the boss gives a morale boost upon death, we can remove the note about it not "technically" being a boss. -Auron 04:16, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Just did the mission. After killing the Apocrypha, there was no morale boost. Tedium 04:54, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

HM Setup[edit]

I've done it in Hm without any problems.Took N/Rt Sab healer, fast casting smite mesmer, Melonni with Balthazar's avatar and was a ranger myself.Norgu ate all the undead with his smiting signets.Don't forget to bring some kind of condition and hex removal on ur mesmer.I'd suggest Smite Condition and Smite Hex. Builds:Sab Healer(everybody knows em ;)),mesmer:SoJ,Spear of Light,Smite,Bane Signet,Smite Hex,Reveled Hex(forgot to take Smite Condition),Res Chant,Mamntra of Inscriptions.Melonni:B Avatar,Victorious Sweep,Chilling victory,Res,Vital Boon,Signet of Pious Light,Pious Assault,Farmer's Scythe/Zealous Sweep.Me:R/W with Drunken Master,Feel No Pain(I was doin the Drunkard title so my HP went up >800 thus makin me a good tank :>),Dragon Slash,Steelfang Slash,Brawling Headbutt,Soldier's Strike,Antidoe Signet,Res Siggy. --Monolito 10:06, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

latest note a spoiler?[edit]

Shouldn't the page get marked with a spoiler alert with the recently added bottom note? it gives away points to the plot that some might not be aware of yet. -- Kassey -- Talk \ Contribs 01:16, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

When is this revealed? I don't remember it. Paddymew 12:02, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
End of Gate of Pain mission cinematic. It is why she was pulled into the Realm of Torment in the first place. -- Azazel the Assassin/talk 14:54, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I've been looking for it for a while. Paddymew 06:31, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Bug[edit]

I just did Jokanur Diggings in Hard Mode and when I fought the Apocrypha, I used "You Move Like a Dwarf!" right after it used Reform Carvings. I then noticed that the Apocrypha was now stuck in "Tablet Form" and refused to do anything but sit there. When I re-used "You Move Like a Dwarf!" it briefly reverted to "Mesmer Form" but then returned to "Tablet Form" once again. The whole time it seemed to have rather high health regeneration. --Curse YouCurse You(talk|contribs) 01:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

This isn't a bug with the Apocrypha, but rather with all Graven Monoliths. Which is noted on that page. The trigger for the bug may be when it gets knocked down (and/or interrupted). -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 01:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps re: interruption but I kinda doubt it. I'm primarily an interruptor and I have yet to see this with all Monoliths I encountered. – User Barinthus Magical Compass.png Barinthus 06:11, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Trivia Note[edit]

the word Apocrypha means Writings of dubious authenticity or also hidden/concealed books. -DeeAbel 21:55, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
I've only heard the word before in the meaning of hidden scriptures. It's latin btw. Apo = Hide/hidden, Crypha = Something written. Paddymew 09:09, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Apocrypha is also the name given to a set of scrolls on the abrahamic religion. I believe they were part of those found with the "Dead Sea Scrolls" if not the whole of them. Just simply wiki the name and you get both the name origin and those scrolls [1]. -- Azazel the Assassin/talk 09:21, 23 July 2009 (UTC) Edit: Along with other apocrypha texts. -- Azazel the Assassin/talk 09:22, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Strange Drop[edit]

First wiki post, not sure I'm doing it right, just copying what I see above me. I just beat the Apocrypha with my Ranger and it dropped something I've never seen before: a scythe with a minimum damage of 10 (10-25, specifically). I thought only the banana scythe and maybe some kind of holiday weapon had a stat like that? Sorry, cut to cinematic too fast for a screen shot. 68.81.213.14 21:24, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi, you're doing it right as far as I can see. A scythe with 10 min damage isn't anything special, it just also has had its max damage reduced. For example, the scythes most people use have a damage of 9-41, but some drop from enemies in PvE that have 10-39, with the same attribute requirement. Paddymew 08:00, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
That's funny, I swear I'd NEVER seen one before and the same night I posted this I got another one (10-28), this time from a raptor nestling in nm. Anyway, are scythes the only weapons for which the minimum damage on a non-max can exceed the minimum damage on a max? I've never seen a 16-20 sword, 7-24 axe, 12-19 wand, etc., but obviously I haven't seen everything. Maybe I should be asking this on the scythe page...68.81.213.14 05:23, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
I don't remember ever seeing another weapon type with higher-than-minimum minimum damage. I think it's exclusively scythes. Paddymew 08:01, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
