Removed Dr. McNinja Reference[edit]

Burning speed has been around a lot longer than that gag. I beleive it is related to the idea of so fast he's on fire, things that move too fast ignite kinda idea. Not a Dr. McNinja. 11:17, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I'd say its related too someone being on fire and running extremely quick because of the pain? Reaper94 22:19, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Maybe if it made you immune to touch skills. Necromas 04:00, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

This Skill Sucks[edit]

Horrible speed boost - doesn't last very long, sets you on fire and requires you to be next to your opponent for it to do anything worthwhile, and even that is easier done via other skills. Also 10 energy is a lot. 11:35, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Sadly, I have to agree. This was useful for Pyromancer Flag runners in Early Factions days, but Fire Djinns Haste performs much better than this skill nowdays.
Indeed, it could use some adjustments. It also shows a bit that GW suffers from power creep after 3 major chapters, 1 expansion and almost three years. We have so many good skills by now that older ones become more or less useless. --Longasc 21:20, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

This skill is great for emo actually...-- 11:18, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

I dont think you guys realize how good this skill could be used with any place where u can bond. Imagine bonder so u have protective bond and 7 pips health regen, spam this when enchanted with ER and you'll be hard as hell to kill. Granted, its just burning but the idea is what counts, plus tanking would work. 03:37, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Why even bother with having regen if you're spamming BS with ER? But yes, this skill is great with Ether Renewal in PvE. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 03:42, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Burning Speed (comment)[edit]

This skill is quite usefull when used in conjunction with a monk, with either exstinquish, or healing breeze. It is a very good first hit, rush into a group, ahead of your attack party, set everyone on fire while they are huddled together. It is the longest burnning spell. When used correctly, this spell can be devestating! Med Luvin 14:11, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I would also expect something like Frigid Armor to work well with it aswell... even if you have 0 water mag as it would still last 3 seconds longer than this skill and it would give you extra armor for that period, ensuring you actually get into a group for burning to be effective

it used to be able to get u above 50% at 16 fire magic, it sucks because u burn and 10 E sucks ur energy dry--Fishy Go Moo 20:38, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

well, ASSUMING you have fire attunement, it will only be 6, you will regenerate about 6 energy during its duration, so this can easily be spammed every 5 secondsInvincible Rogue 20:12, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Running Skill[edit]

Isn't this skill absolutely worthless for runners? It has 0.25 activation time + 0.75 aftercast delay which ends up with 1 second of doing nothing. Now lets calculate the average speed boost. Let's assume the speed boost given is 1.5 (rounded up). Because of aftercast your running time would be 5-0.75=4.25 seconds (about 4). Assuming that you run 1 distance unit during 1 second, you will run 1.5*4=6 distance units under this enchantment. Enchantment ends after 5 seconds (of which 1 second you were doing nothing). So the average speed boost for 5 seconds is about 6/5=1.2

In other words - This skill is like a stance that gives 20% for 5 seconds with 5 second recharge! Putting aside the fact it consumes 10 energy every 5 seconds and sets you on fire.

Not that good for running, eh? 12:06, 28 December 2007 (UTC)TEHEK

A dervish with Extend Enchantments and Avatar of Melandru can use this skill quite well. --Treasure Boy 10:28, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

concise description? ummm...?[edit]

has anyone else noticed that the concise description for this skill is bad? (here, bad meaning incorrect) A: itgives no mention of the duration of the enchantment, and B: the way the original skill is worded you'll be on fire for 5 seconds as opposed to 3..8..9 in the concise... in fact, i just tested it, and the burning duration on yourself is STILL five seconds, as is the enchantment duration... --Timeoffire45 15:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I noticed it as well, just as I was looking over what skills I need to unlock. ~~ User:Frvwfr2 frvwfr2 (talk · contributions) 19:50, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Was about to say it is wrong. Needs a change --Treasure Boy 10:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Enchantement Spell. You move 30...42...45% faster. You suffer from Burning (5 seconds) End effect: inflicts Burning Condition 3...8...9 seconds on adjacent foes (Attrib: Fire Magic) is what it says in the game. Concise description --Treasure Boy 10:24, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Edit on the first note[edit]

I know that I should let the notes as they are if they have been edited. However, they where ambigous if not false before I changed them and now totally incorrect. See the Junundu skills and rethink. 50% increased movement speed is NOT the fastest in GuildWars! Noctarch 02:59, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Re-applying causes burning[edit]

I was tanking for my pet using ER and Burning Speed spam to level him, I noticed people around me are on fire. This is after endless clicking on BS for constant health and energy gain, so I'm guessing that when it should have ended, it will still cause burning, much like Aura of the Lich and healing. Can anyone confirm this as I might just be off today and not noticing something. Also could someone add it to the notes maybe if its true? Thanks. ~Falcon67.181.164.73 18:32, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

What if...[edit]

Burning Speed: 5e, 1/4s, 0r Enchantment Spell. For 5 seconds, you move 30...42...45% faster. Each second you are set on fire for 1...4...5 seconds and if you are set on fire, adjacent foes are also set on fire for 1...4...5 seconds. You lose 3...1...1 energy every second that at least one foe was set on fire. Necromas 17:53, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

No need for bala, skill is useable-- 19:41, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Heck, before the change to Shadow Form, this was one of the kill skills for permasins to farm the Vaettir. Guildwarsrunner 21:03, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
