Character slots per campain: Actually i think it is countable as 2 character slots per account and 2 per campain. so when you start playing and have one campain you end up with 4. But that is just my speculation... Morgoth Bauglyr 16:14, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

This is, and always has been total BS. Why am i punished for having both campaigns? Just give me 4 for each title, it is absolutely silly that I can get more characters by not linking the campaigns together. What is the goal here? punish people who want to play across multiple campaigns? I just can't believe this policy has continued past the initial launch and am utterly shocked others have not been as outraged by this as I am.
I've played GW for over 3 years and love its business model of releasing independent chapters instead of a reoccurring subscription fee. And found I wind up paying close to the same total amount to the MMO I subscribe to off and on and ANET, but this nickel and dimming me for character slots just really rubs me the wrong way. - AnnoyedFool.

I've wanted additional character slots for a while now (three of them), and now that I've finally tried to go through with the whole purchase deal I'm really cheesed off. I can't get them because I don't have a credit card with any of those companies, I always use PayPal for online transactions and I don't understand that that isn't an option here. So what is the maximum?

Okay so I have 28 character slots on my primary account. What is the overall cap? 26 + 4 fro original campaign + 2 for second campaign + 2 for third campaign = 34. Your kidding me.... 28 slots?!?! Man I thought I had a lot 13 :( . Why on earth would someone need that many characters? I mostly only use one. Anyway back to the topic lol. When they first came out with selling characters slots when they released factions they first said it would be 32. That's only off of memory. I have 35 slots on my account now. Slots still seem to be a selectable option in the in-game store and I'm tempted to try to add another. For those wondering, I've been using character slots to make PVP toons that I've been using as storage mules. Pkohler01 03:24, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

So 34 is the limit if you own all the games, and 35 only for those who pre-ordered Nightfall?

Linking the same campaign to a single account twice?

I'm just wondering here, but what happens when you do this? For example, say someone went out and got Nightfall, and created an account using the access key that came with it. Later on, that same person gets a copy of Guild Wars Trilogy, and links the Trilogy access key to their old NF account. Since the Trilogy key contains NF, it would pretty much mean that they're adding the same campaign a second time. Would doing this still get them the two extra character slots that one normally gets when they link a campaign to their account? Or would the account simply not acknowledge the second NF account? --Jack Faros 06:43, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

The only way you could link a campaign to an account that already had that campaign, would be if you bought The Game of the Year Edition (Prophecies) or a Collectors' Edition (Factions and Nightfall) for an account that only had the basic game. Thrain 16:33, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Max without buying

Wouldn't it be 11? If you buy PvP pack first that's 4, 2 for each other campaign(3) and then 1 from nightfall preview? 4+6+1=11? So if you can buy 26 in the store would that grand total be 37?173.30.126.211 22:48, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, actually it's something like that: First campaign give you 2+2 (4) slots, then next 2 for the 2nd campaign, and 2 more for the third campaign. Both expansions (GWEN and BMP) don't give you additional slots at all. There is one additional slot from Nightfall preview. When it comes to the PvP sets I'm pretty unsure, but from what I know it's like that: if you guy PvP access kit only, you will get 4 slots indeed. BUT if you buy additional campaigns you won't get more than 8+1 (NF preview, assuming you somehow get unused code and apply it to the PvP account with additional campaigns). Also if you buy PvP access kit while having ANY PvE campaign (Prop/FC/NF), you won't get any additional slots. It's the same as with the Xunlai slots, when the max is 4+1 (4th anniversary) without buying.

So in short, from what I know the max character slots you can have without buying additional ones from the shop is 9, with PvP access kit giving no benefits once you have at least 1 campaign —Faalagorn☎/✓ 09:51, 24 November 2009 (UTC).

Correct name of the article

Well, actually the correct name for the that page should be "Character Slot" (big letters), especially since the name of the item you can buy through In-Game Store is written in such way (Extra Character Slot). It's the same as Xunlai Storage Pane. —Faalagorn☎/✓ 09:38, 24 November 2009 (UTC).

Maximum amout of theoretical storage space?

If the maximum amount of characters one can have in one account provided for the above posts is 38 (for best calculation here) and you had the most bags you can have for each character and all 9 storage panes and (anniversary bonus pane included here) + the material storage. You have hmm... 38 x 45 spaces + 181 spaces in Xunlai which comes to 1891 total slots to store stuff on one account. So it is entirely possible to have 472,750 ectoplasm or feathers or any material imaginable provided its all of that one material.Yumiko ^,~ 04:13, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Recent Email (23.10.2019)

I recently sent a mail to GW1 Support to confirm how many slot one account can have. Their answer was "Wiki is outdated, You can have a maximum of 69 slot in GW1." and as far as i know since Heart of Thorns release that is the exact number of GW2 slot. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 118.179.180.69 (talk) at 18:28, 22 October 2019 (UTC).
