Talk:Chark
Ehm,... Where the hell is he? Or can you only see the trial if you've actually finished the Golem quests? --84.26.78.183 07:18, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- If he spawns, he is right behind you, next to the portal. You don't have to have done the quests, but you may have to have MOX. Backsword 07:20, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- Well, for me, he isn't there. And I have M.O.X. on this character. Perhaps a combo of having finished EotN + having M.O.X.? I'll check with another character. --84.26.78.183 07:22, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- He showed up for my necro who has beat eotn and is Rank 3 in the Asura title, "Not Too Clumsy." I haven't done the zinn quests either. --Ravencroft0 09:34, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- He only Showed for my Character Who'd Completed EOTN and done the Zinn Quests --Neil2250 , Render Lord 11:52, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- Chark appeared for my ele who has completed EotN and has M.O.X. but I have not done any of Zinn's quests. ~Celestia 12:10, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- So I guess it's safe to say that either completion of EotN or completion of Zinn's Task is required. He won't spawn for my characters who have done neither of the two, but he'll spawn for my elementalist who hasn't completed EotN but has done Zinn's task, and he'll also spawn for my mesmer who completed EotN (but hasn't done Zinn's Task). 81.71.183.54 15:23, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- He appeared for my ele who has M.O.X. and EoTN but not Zinn's tasks (only have R.O.X. to go!). Some of my other character have M.O.X. but none of my others have complete EoTN, and he didn't show up for any of them. Also wondering if he only appears once to one character, and after you have viewed the trial once whether or not he won't show up for the other characters because he disappears for my ele after the trial. EDIT: According to Chark's dialogue/quote at the start, he says something like "Do you know about the R.O.X., P.O.X. or N.O.X. incidents?", which makes me believe that people who haven't completed EoTN, or have done one of those quest parts of Zinn's task will make him appear for them as well... -- Lacky 17:27, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- My ele completed 2 of the golem quests, but not EoTN, and he did not appear. So starting the Zinn's Task quest is not enough, you have to complete it. --78.21.63.70 12:43, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

- I don't even have MOX b/c I don't own Factions... but he spawned and let me in regardless b/c my Character recently complete ATFH --ilr 21:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

- the only requirement of Chark showing up is completion of EOTN, and does not require MOX's presence or MOX being unlocked on the account. People who dont have all the campaigns (a requirement to get MOX) has access to the Trial as long as EOTN is completed. -Sef326 00:25, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- Alright, well, shall we note that in the article (since it seems to be the consensus), or have it confirmed first? EDIT: Well, it's already apart of the Trial of Zinn article that you ahve to have EoTN for him to appear, so may as well add it here as well... -- Lacky 05:04, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
>>>> Notes * Chark will only appear if you have completed the Eye of the North expansion. <<<< wrong! i haven't completed the Eye of the North expansion. but have completed Zinn's Task quest yesterday. Chark appears after that. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.122.173.209 (talk).
Um, here's the key question in my opinion... Of what use/benefit is it to the player to even complete this quest? There is no reward listed anywhere on the post. So the real question for Anet is: "Why should I care about completing this quest?" --Filofax1us 06:43, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- The 'quest' isn't about gaining a benefit; it's about furthering the story line. ThrainFile:User Thrain Sig.pngcontribs 06:47, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
I dont' meet eitehr requriemnt but he showed for me.[edit]
Jsut thought I'd add dthat in, I"ll i've done in do the recuit the asura partionfo EotN. 24.20.130.254 19:48, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
So, given all that, what is the requirement?[edit]
It clearly isn't just "finish EotN", nor is it "finish Zinn's Task". It isn't "the one or the other", either, because I saw him some months ago before I had finished EotN (I have done that now for that character, but only a couple of days ago) and I haven't done Zinn's Task on any character. I have MOX on the character who saw him, but:
- She had completed the Norn track
- She had completed the Vanguard track
- She had NOT even gone into the golem simulation
- She had NOT (and still has not) finished any of the three campaigns
- She had NOT finished the Asura track, I think
I may be wrong about the last point, in which case the trigger should be "finished the Asura track" rather than "finished EotN", just like Thackeray's appearances in the Hall of Monuments are based on finishing the Vanguard track.
If so, that leaves the obvious question: Thackeray's dialogues with Gwen start when you have finished the Vanguard track, Chark when you have finished the Asura track. Who appears when you have finished the Norn track?
Yeah, yeah, I know, tl;dr. Bah. Cynique 08:46, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

There was an alpha tester who uses the screenname 'chark' who was part of the Pie Induced Ecstasy guild. Not sure what reason ArenaNet had, though.
