Shouldn't this go into user-space? --JonTheMon 21:43, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

What makes you think that? Backsword 21:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Huh, I suppose it is valid. When was this discovered / added into GW.DAT? --JonTheMon 21:59, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Slightly before the release of EotN, I'd presume, as that's where it's used. Backsword 22:00, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

This honestly feels more like a 66 or 90% change for self-rezz... Lou Wolfskin 19:06, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Even if you exploit the corpse, they can still self-rez. Killing them again leaves an unexploited corpse. That can help to build up a minion army during a vanquish. Wombatt 22:07, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Won't argue with that, still it's quite irritating how often they rez themself. Lou Wolfskin 11:03, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I really enjoy fighting monsters that won't stay dead when you kill them. Cynique 09:15, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Maybe we can look forward to combat with armies of zombies 66.170.212.17 17:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Frozen Soil[edit]

Does anyone know if FS affects their ability to get back up? 81.200.198.20 10:18, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

As I see it, there are three possibilities:
  1. FS completely prevents this from working
  2. FS has no effect on this at all
  3. The first time a mantid dies, False Death will work, but the resurrected mantid will not resurrect if FS is still working at that point
Justifications: The first is more or less in keeping with the idea of Frozen Soil. However, the second is more in line with the mechanics of a "constantly active" skill effect: FS prevents activation of resurrection skills, and you aren't in a position to cast it near a mantid at the point in time where False Death becomes active, i.e. when the mantid is created as you enter the zone. In this respect, False Death is like the exceptions listed in Frozen Soil: skills you activate now to prepare a resurrection that takes place later. FS prevents them from being activated, but does not prevent already-active skills from resurrecting a player.
This brings me to the third possible result. If False Death counts as being "activated" at the point when the mantid is created, and the resurrected mantid counts as a newly created no-XP monster (rather than a resurrected version of its previous self), then it is reasonable to assert that the first death would be resurrectable, but the second would not. This is, of course, highly speculative, but equally a fertile target for research. Cynique 10:58, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
Secondary note. The pages on Charr Homelands Mantids at GuildWiki claims that their self-resurrection ability is not affected by Frozen Soil. Cynique 11:04, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
To make a very long story short, like Cynique said, The skill is always active, so FS doesn't prevent the resurection. The resurected mantid might be disabled to start it, but thats unknown.Rumian 11:09, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
