Talk:Fingers of Chaos

This skill is totally anti-warrior. All others suffer, too, but Warriors are affected so much more it is not funny. Farming prevention is okay, but there are ways to farm this place, and none involves a warrior - with or without this handicap. And what was the result? Do not bother to go to the nightfallen tombs as a warrior or bring your group with you. Even then you are really the one to get the shaft. Good idea in theory, bad monster skill ingame! :( --Longasc 14:35, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

This skill doesn't affect ritualists in any way. Why don't you bring Sight Beyond Sight? Or just be a tank for your group. Bring something like "I Am Unstoppable!" so you can resist both crippled and kd from the dryders. Tharos 14:17, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
On a side note this skill was introduced early before skills like "I Am Unstoppable!" made their appearance. Let's face it: if you play in a guild group you have plenty of options and you can still enjoy a real diversity in builds and strategy because of the cohesion of party members. If you play in a PUG you will most of the time encounter lazy ignorant pve-only people whose sole interest is the slot machine giving green items that the tomb represent, fun is optional. If you think ArenaNet will adress the fact that only monks/necros/rangers play there think about The Jade Quarry ( this place is still empty, they could at least recycle it ). And think good.... Should someone pretend the fingers of chaos was introduced to prevent farming then think about assassins(shadow form)/elementalists who solo the whole thing. Again, think good about professions that are available only within campaigns that ArenaNet would want to sell you. When you see that the reaction to pets nerf was to bring more pets ( woa, what a tactic ! ) and that ArenaNet did not anticipate this you know there are some areas you will never play. Considering all the areas concerned, when you buy a guildwars game you actually buy only a fraction of the content promised. 90.29.55.153 09:24, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Fingers of Chaos predates Factions. They've never gone back and re-balanced the skill to fuck with the new solo-farming builds since then. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 21:00, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

just noticed...Mesmers were even disfavoured in disfavour.[edit]

Looks like Anet did not have fear of farming mesmers. I actually saw a "Me UW2 farm" build in the inet someday... xP —ZerphatalkThe Improver 20:54, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, ironically mesmers aren't that bad at farming. On the other hand, at that time they would have had to have one of the others as a secondary profession anyway, so they would still have suffered a bit. 86.24.115.34 12:39, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
I went into Tombs (NM) the other day and had a chance to go 1vs1 with a Grasp of Insanity. My Physical Resistance stance was being removed systematically and my profession was Me/A. Has anyone else noticed this? Nefeli of Mirrors 20:01, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

In short?[edit]

They wont miss rangers but they will not remove any enchantments cast on the Ranger. Or better yet, just blind them, Throw Dirt. So its better to bring a Ranger as frontline so they attack rangers instead?--ShadowFog 16:24, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

The "won't miss" means attacks on Rangers can't be blocked, so blocking enchants would still fail. Dervs would make a better front line (assuming they aren't D/W). If you are using an actual balanced group with a front, mid, and backline, this skill really should pose a threat. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 16:30, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
2 rits, 2 dervs, 2 paras and 2 sins with secondary professions in each other's professions should make a balanced team, no? Paddymew 08:49, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Also...[edit]

This skill removes enchantments from dervishes. I'd say it's a bug, but may be intended. Second opinions? --Nkuvu User Nkuvu sig button.jpg 21:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

...OK, disregard this, I wasn't paying attention. Had Monk as secondary profession (normally switch to /Rt or /Me to help people through Sunspears in Kryta, but apparently forgot to do that this time). --Nkuvu User Nkuvu sig button.jpg 21:33, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

In Need of an Update?[edit]

OK surely this is one of the skills most in need of an update in the game, it's just that it's PvE-only so nobody seems to care. I mean, it totally destroys monks (certainly for farming), since they rely on enchantments a lot and means that pretty much no other core character can farm solo, but yet Shadow Form sins (who can already farm most other places) can do it by themselves. Does that not strike anyone as a bit unfair? 86.24.115.34 12:37, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

I totally agree with this. I understand limiting the farming of this area, but that made me think that you could "fix" Shadow Form by changing it to blocks all attacks, instead of attacks "miss". For skills that are unblockable, it would fix a bit of Shadow Forms greatness.

This skill interrupts elementalist. Since permas need ele as a secondary and this skill affects secondaries, I dont think permas are exempt from being affected by this skill. Not sure since I havent tested, but it seems logical. --68.214.73.151 05:02, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it will interrupt them... but not through Shadow Form, of course. Also, you could be A/Me instead of A/E if you wanted to. -~=Sparky User Sparky, the Tainted charr sig.PNG (talk) 05:07, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Effects on non-core classes[edit]

The effects on non-core classes should be documented. Please add as discovered. Dervish: same as Warrior. User Auntmousie 19x19Jrat.jpg(AUNTMOUSIE) 21:45, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Did the dervish you tested this on have a warrior secondary?--Pyron Sy 21:57, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
bah... yeah. I'm gonna run my paragon later, I'll switch her to P/D to be certain. User Auntmousie 19x19Jrat.jpg(AUNTMOUSIE) 22:22, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
It doesn't have any effects on non-core classes. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 16:22, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
