Anyone know the requirements for this quest? I've completed the Ebon Vanguard primary missions (and have done both of Gwen's quests) but this one doesn't show up for me. Any ideas? --Valentein 08:09, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Sorry I couldn't add that because I got the miraculous idea to add it here on GWW after I was halfway through the next quest. The only thing I'd suggest is start with all the quests Captain Langmar gives, and you should eventually run into it. --onoes! Mafaraxas 18:14, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Trivia with the axe product? Halogod35 05:25, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

The note about compromising the quest deliberately to get xp+reputation points is false, because the bomb kills them then ressurrects them so they give no xp or reputation points. See ArenaNet talk:Miscellaneous bugs for detailsCrimmastermind 22:10, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Another reward dialogue?[edit]

After I finished poisoning the food, I ran straight back into Grothmar Wardowns instead of talking to Vael and, when I rezoned into Sacnoth Valley, my quest log told me to talk to Captain Langmar for my reward.

When I did, Cap. Langmar said, "Vael tells me the job is only half done. Go finish the rest of the job." (paraphrased the 2nd sentence...forgot her exact words. Also, I'm gonna paraphrase the accept reward dialogue since I forgot the exact words.)

--> I'll finish the job.

The accept reward sentence doesn't have the usual markings but it definitely is one.

Anyone else see this before?

Trivia?[edit]

A bit unrelated, but a song geared against the American South's racial conflict is called "forbidden fruit"Yae Mozs 03:33, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

A bit of confusion?[edit]

The notes seem contradictory:

  • The anomaly:
Because the gas bombs technically kill and then resurrect the Charr in the fort, they will not yield any experience, reputation points or loot after the bombs have been set off
  • The note:
For increased reputation points, clear out this zone with the exception of the stronghold and burning forest areas. This will earn you a substantial number of points. With the high blessing rank, start this quest but purposefully compromise it to generate another boss and more opponents to fight

The anomaly indicates that no reputation points will be rewarded for the Charr that resurrect after the bomb. The note indicates that you can use the quest to gather more reputation by leaving the charr in the stronghold until later. (when the anomaly has just stated no rep will be given for these foes!)

In any case, it would be better for this quest to not be around when farming reputation since there would be one less boss than usual (and neither would give rep with this quest around) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 14:32, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Agreed. -3 bosses in the area because the quest is active +2 from the quest should be a net loss, particularly if the boss you save til last doesn't give rep. The combination of not taking Single Ugly Grawl ... until you've cleared everything out including The Smell of Titan in the Morning seems reasonable, but doesn't apply to this quest (with this quest, it's still a net loss). I'll remove that note. Lillian ap Cor 14:31, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
