Merging link sources for weapons with the same skin (Ancient/Vabbian Bows)[edit]

I just updated these bows, and in the Comment section of each one I linked what bows share the same skin (not to upload the same picture four times). What I want to do is to update the preview in the weapon page of each one written in the Comment section but without having to upload the same picture again four times (the wiki says that it's duplicated, you know), but I don't know how to do it because if I click the "Edit" button there is no way to do it manually with the HTML code, so I'm stuck. Maybe an admin or mod can help me or do it for me, please? —Scribeton (talk) 20:23, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

In every single article of the bows that share each other's skin, you should find a Template:Weapon infobox at the start of the editing space. By using the "image" parameter (as seen in usage), you can specificy which image should be displayed instead of the default one (which is the image that shares the page's name, when the image parameter is left out). Of course I could easily do this for you, but if you wanted to try it for yourself, feel free to give it a go! We can always help with it afterwards if you have trouble with it. :] - Infinite - talk 00:36, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
I'm trying with the "Show preview" but for some reason I can't get this to work, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to put only the link, only the name of the bow, only the .jpg route, both the name and the .jpg at the same time, the name route alone, the photo route alone, the parameter empty (etc) and nothing works, I'm idiot :V (all this inside the "Infobox" like you said, clicking the "Edit" button inside each main page, but when I click the "Show preview" it doesn't work). I know how to link a second image in a page using the [[Image:]] command below the Infobox, but for some reason I am not able to do it with the main one from the panel. Do it for me, please, and then I will see the template by myself to recreate it for a future, because with the explanation looks like I can't seem to get it right. —Scribeton (talk) 02:58, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
After saving your work, the page might still show the old picture, since it's been loaded from cache. In that case, you need to push the time at the top of the page to purge the cache.
I'm not sure if this might also affect the preview function. I suggest to just make a change, save it, clean the cache and then see. Steve1 (talk) 12:19, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
Edit: I used https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Ancient_Recurve_Bow.jpg as a basis for those edits: https://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=Tenshek%27s_Shortbow&curid=24099&diff=2669826&oldid=2562449 and https://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=Ancient_Shortbow&curid=19661&diff=2669827&oldid=2562349 - this should be correct? Yes, this is what I was trying to do, thank you very much, now I see why didn't it work for me, it's | image = [[Image:________]] instead | image = ________ like I was doing (facepalm), I have to put the [[Image:]] command inside the |image label. Mystery solved, thank you again, now I understand. —Scribeton (talk) 14:52, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
