Favor Message in Your District Question[edit]
Does district mean in an outpost/city or does it mean any instance? Meaning if I get full Cartographer title will I get to see it in my explorable area or not? THanks :) --Ravious 03:06, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed this addion is pretty much useless if only keept to the outpost/city. Most titles are achieved in explorable areas not Cites. I guess there doing because it says when someone levels. ~ Zero rogue x 06:58, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- More useful would be announcing the number of skill points earned by a char instead of announcing "char has earned a skill point" when they level. Shows you how much of a life (or not) you spent in the game. :-P --DaveBaggins 02:06, Aug 17 2006 (CST)

- Yes, it means instance. You and your party will see it no matter where you are when you get it. It's a nice addition if you like to screenshot your accomplishments, or if you like seeing what your friends are getting. It'd be nice if it worked in party for all ranks of all titles though... ~ Kailianna Firesoul 13:25, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
templates in vista[edit]
After this update my teplate directory changed from %user%/documents/guild wars/templates to c:/program files/guild wars/templates -TehBuG 03:15, 17 August 2007 (UTC)-
- Really? Man, I just copied all templetas from GW folder to Documents ... --Шєвч [TALK] @ 07:24, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- If anything it was better to have it in the users directory. I guess though this can be a pain if you have two loggons (for a relative) but want to share templates with both accounts --SK 07:45, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've taken few screenshots today plus saved few skill templates, and they all apeared in Documents (and not on D:\Program Files\Guild Wars, where my GW instalation is) ... --Шєвч [TALK] @ 23:12, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- well, as soon as the "a new build is available...." message came up, all my templates dissappeared. -TehBuG-
- My templates are still usable, and in C:/Program Files/Guild Wars/Templates. Vista wanted to put them into the User/Documents thingie, but then I realized I'd have to copy over my templates from the desktop (vista's only on the new laptop), so I manually redirected everything to where it is now (fancy talk for "I hit ctrl-x and ctrl-v and jumped around a bit when nothing broke"). Ancestor's Rage Change[edit]
Seriously you must be kidding. This is probably better than it was in it's pre nerf form. 5 energy now, faster cast time... and OH NO, you have to cast it 1 second sooner! This is just so dumb. I do however like the Spirit Burn change. Yesitsrob 03:51, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- I think you missed the part where it's been turned into an enchantment...68.82.216.207 03:54, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- In that it won't stack with other copies, which probably kills it as a rit spiking skill but makes it better in other ways - .25 cast for a skill that can do ~130 aoe damage for 5 energy every 8 seconds still strikes me as a bit good still. Yesitsrob 04:00, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Does casting over the first copy count as ending it? --Tankity Tank 04:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Use your logic. That would just make it more powerful than it was before, and it was already pretty frickin' powerful. In other words, no.-- Mafaraxas 18:24, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

New ritspike: 8 Rt/As with Ancestors' Rage and Shadow Walk! --24.249.155.42 05:06, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

- You cast AR first and then Shadow Walk... --68.106.221.5 04:51, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- I will test this skill ASAP. I think we need to congratulate Izzy on the "ENCHANTMENT IDEA". This was a brilliant idea. This kills the instant bang of several Rage's going off straight in your face. But i got to agree with Rob: 5 energy for this one? TBH, 10-15 energy and I would not complain. I would also not mind if this thing goes off after 2 seconds. A big thanks also for Wielder's Boon and the slew of Assassin buffs. I found Palm Strike quite okay for 10 energy. I think some of the buffs might soon get reverted. I loved Wild Strike before, not it totally removes the need for Wild Blow... wow. This update should be called "Generous Was Izzy". --Longasc 08:17, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

- Didnt notice the enchantment part either. If it works like that, great idea I must add. A damage without spike potential. Along with Spirit Burn spike-nerf tweak, an amazing change! Servant of Kali 09:46, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Dervishes with ancestor's rage? heck, why not? --Ckal Ktak 10:01, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, E/Rt, cast Ancestor's Rage on yourself, then Ride the Lightning. That is 106 damage (25% armor penetration) plus 110 lightning damage (12 Channeling), 5 E/Rts (plus 3 monks), total of 530 damage (25% armor penetration) plus 550 lightning damage in 1 second (exhaustion is a problem, but can be managed) NeHoMaR 12:12, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Aftercast. Your ancestors rage will trigger when you are starting to cast RtL. You need .25 or less cast shadowstep to make sure it triggers, bit it would be very unstable. Zweistein 08:44, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Party Search[edit]
Anyone know exactly what words were added as Triggers for Party Search? --Fenix 06:57, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe W T B or W T S ... maybe even Selling / Buying (altho I wouldn't think it will be those two -- imagine you talk with your friend and you say I was buying somethnig today and you go on party search xD) .. Anyways, I've seen alot of those words (mostly W T S & W T B) used for selling and they didn't trigger Party Search ... so maybe they do now ;) --Шєвч [TALK] @ 07:27, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- They'd be my first guess, although I can only assume people use those specifically to avoid Party Search for one reason or another, so if they do now trigger it those people will simply move to another manipulation of the acronym. My next guess would be acronyms for other languages which may have been missed. Shotmonkey 12:01, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- See the Game_updates:July_2007#Update_-_Tuesday.2C_July_17.2C_2007 update. -DaveBaggins 02:26, Aug 17 2006 (CST)
- No, what I meant was this line in the update; "Added additional trade and grouping keywords to the list of words that trigger Party Search." So I was wondering what the additional keywords were. --Fenix 07:40, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Spirit Burn[edit]
"Spell. Target foe is struck for 5...41...50 lightning damage. If any Spirits are within earshot, Spirit Burn causes burning for 1...3 second(s)." Did anybody see this change? It used to be "If any Spirits are within earshot, Spirit Burn deals +10-40 damage." 3 seconds at 8 degen = 24 Dmg... so the damage is less, but I still like the effect. - User:SabreWolf
- actually, that is 3 seconds at 7 degen = 42 damage --67.170.62.133 09:17, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- opps oh ya, my bad i forgot to add in the extra 1 pip = 2hp... so ya... 3(2*7)... which BTW.. I thought it used to be 1 pip = 3HP? when did that change? Maybe thats why my early versions of a 55HP Monk didnt work.
- Didn't try it yet, but love the new description. Servant of Kali 09:48, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
One part of many?[edit]
This seems to be quite a big skill balance, but for only two professions. Will there be a few other updates balancing skills from the other professions? Are the balances happening a few professions at a time now, or is this just coincidence? Maestro Ed 10:16, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Look like a Factions only update NeHoMaR 11:54, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
No More Abaddon Runs?[edit]
"Changed Abaddon’s AI for “Words of Madness” so it does not allow entirely avoiding him while achieving Masters level completion of the mission at the same time."
- Somthing tells me that this was implamented due to the runs in Abaddon... is this true? or does it still work? - User:SabreWolf
The update for assassin is useless.[edit]
Yes the 0.5 attacks are great... but so does the warrior skills critical chop and its partner. They both have similar 0.5 s activation.
Think about it, they've bigger armor, their own ias, and hence the freedom to pick alt. secondary to go pick conjure etc. and... they have got 0.5s activation skill which makes their attacks essentially a dual attack.
Did you know that a 4 chain axe attack can kill a 60al target in under 2 second with those 0.5 second skill (critical/agonizing chop)? The reason being the activation of critical chop overlaps that of the say eviscerate under IAS!
The timeline looks like follow. E denotes the start and ends of eviscerate while C denotes the start and end of critical chop. The way the activation works ensure that E and C that's: eviscerate and critical chop hit together at the same time. Imagine this + conjure + frenzy.
|--E--------------E--| |------------C----C--|
LOD needs more buff to even make it comparable to the axe chain. This is so half hearted and so pissing me off.
And yes while encouraging for LOD the recharge timer and the + dmg needs to be buffed further. Other than that, this update has been DUMB.
This does not address ANY of the following issues 1) 3 attack chains dmg is LAME. Recharge is LAME-R 2) 5 attack chains make your bar TOO Crowded. 3) 4 attack chains are limited SP and AoD assassins 4) Impale and Palm Strike have that iffy aftercast issue 5) GPS does NOT have its pair ala. the blacks 6) Blades of Steel has NO use NONE, NADA, ZIP other than in SP. the problem being the dual is most efficient with 3 other attack skills... that can NOT include MOEBIUS STRIKE or PALM STRIKE. and there's only 1 combo for that. You guess it. 7) Unsuspecting Strike recharges faster with monstrous energy req. WTH were they thinking? 8) At least golden fox is *semi* usable, but NOT fox fangs with it's terrible recharge, it does NOT have any good pairing.
oh well I'm done ranting :<
- You missed this devastating new combo:
Four second recharge, unblockable combo which destroys virtually all defenses, and any they put up during your attack chain spam. --Ckal Ktak 07:14, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, needs critical eye and high crit attrib for emanagement but it is a nasty build.--Brainless Thought 05:50, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Ask for break[edit]
I just passed my two hours about fifteen minutes ago, no ask for break. This happen to anyone else? Anja removed it from the main page, so I brought it up here. Armond 20:56, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- I passed it half an hour ago, and I got the message :/ I've had inconsistencies with this message before, it didn't always happen before this update either. Sometimes it told me to take a break, and sometimes not. - anja 20:58, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- It depends on how much hours you have logged into your account or how much you've been playing recently. If I haven't been online alot for a few days, it won't tell me to take a break at 2 hours. If I played alot the past day, it will tell me too take a break at 2 hours.--§ Eloc § 04:06, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Italian Translation is Still Wrong[edit]
After 5 days ritualist skills descriptions still says "questa abilità provoca esaurimento" = "this skill cause exhaustion", and maybe there are other errors or untranslated updates, but thank god i can play in english so i don't know which ones. --YukoIshii 18:03, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
