Adding organization to these guides[edit]

After comparing all of the great ideas in the sections in these Profession guides, I've tried to bring together a single format for all of them to use. The information has not been changed, but in some cases it has been reorganized so that readers will know what to expect across all guides.

Because of this, many guides will have incomplete sections. I believe this is worth it to have the great sections cover all of the guides and have more complete organization.

I’m adding this explanation to all of the guides’ Talk pages so everyone can see it regardless of which guide they see first.--Declan 20:36, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Can I add information to this guides?--ShadowFog 17:00, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Ofcourse! This is a wiki, anyone can add things relevant to the article :) -- Mini Me talk 18:23, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Ritualists should get the axe in Guild Wars 2[edit]

It was stated that not all 10 professions would return in Guild Wars 2. The Ritualist should not be return. GW2 does not need a "Jack of No Trade" class. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:64.210.144.214 (talk).

Dont feed the troll people... there's better boards to write hate rants to.--ShadowFog 15:30, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually, seems the important thing is to let this anon know that he should not pointlessly repeat the same thing on more than one page. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 15:33, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Special...[edit]

However, these rituals are very prone to interrupts due to the long recharge of most binding rituals.

PRONE TO INTERRUPT due to long RECHARGE

Changed this to cast time based on the above edit. It seemed more fitting. Thanks for pointing it out :) --Fae 12:55, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

PvX Wiki Links[edit]

All except 12 are broken. User ShadowSong sig.jpg ShadowSong 04:48, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

This doesn't seem to fit in, where its put in, at least.[edit]

Weapon Spells do not stack. Spirit Light is one of the most powerful heals for its low energy cost, comparable to many powerful healing prayer spells in terms of raw healing. Vengeful Weapon, Xinrae's Weapon and Weapon of Remedy.... Its talking about weapon spells, then POOF. spirit light comes in. and then, more weapon spells. Doesn't really fit into the flow of things. 216.119.178.127 18:12, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Also! found this!: common among GvG teams and in PvP events like Costume Brawl, use skills like Dash and Weapon of Warding to run the flag and provide moderate support and utility when needed.

Can't bring Dash in costume brawl. You are stuck with the the skills the rits start with.216.119.178.127 18:48, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm on a roll, found 3 mistakes so far. Ritualist’s clever use of Death Nova with Signet of Creation, Signet of Creation, Signet of Ghostly Might and Flesh Golem... Listed the same thing, twice.216.119.178.127 18:48, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Fixed! ^_^ --Falconeye 06:53, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

The What to Avoid section seriously needs an update[edit]

Hahaha ritualists having to worry about being interrupted. So much for that. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Green Arrow (talk).

It is still very valid in PvP and somewhat valid against NPC's godlike interrupt reflexes (though I agree that most monster bars do not feature interrupts). --Xeeron 16:22, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
yep while the casting times have been reduced in PvE, the recharge times are still ample... so while yo u cna now dump all your spirits down in 5-6 seconds who's to say your not getting knocked down or interrupted in any of that time... interrupts are still a problem, they are just less likly to happen MrPaladin talk 14:11, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
While feather farming, I get interrupted by Caromi Tengu Wild's Cry of Frustration. Pretty godly reflexes, if I say so myself. Kalizar, Lord of War 03:26, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Ritualist haters[edit]

You forgot one important thing. Ritualist secondaries are the best healers and minion masters, plus ritualist primaries are always welcome in a party. So yeah... their skills aren't that useless. --Graahk 12:38, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Most rit haters tend to attack Spawning Power rather than the skills themselves though. Not that I agree with them, I personally think that SP is great.--81.156.104.127 17:28, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
How does ritualist as a secondary profession help a primary necromancer be a better minion master? And why should information on ritualists as a secondary profession be in a guide for playing primary ritualists? -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 04:37, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Guide Relevancy[edit]

The guide is extremely outdated, contains many strategies and builds that are either outdated, unworkable or terrible to begin with. Someone with some time and expertise of the ritualist class should clean this article up. 121.6.181.181 06:27, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

As updated and relevant as can be. --Falconeye 03:55, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
There is still a lot of information that isn't good, especially for new players, which these guides are supposed to be for. Anything mentioning front-line roles for the rit should be pruned, and as great as spirit's strength is, you need a buffer to make it work really well; which is something new players won't know how to use. The guide is also way too long (which is true of other profession pages). Ritualists are very versatile, but at the same time not everything that's possible should be mentioned here. I'm not saying that all the information should be meta, but mentioning Rt/W with spirits strength and spamming attack skills as an example just isn't good for new or experienced players. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 16:11, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Less talk, more fixing article? It is a wiki. Backsword 16:19, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

2020/2021 Cleanup[edit]

Removed a lot of outdated information, improved pacing and flow of content, moved secondary professions towards generalized usage instead of specific examples, cut fluff and awkward placing of elements. I don't think the article is perfect but it needed to be reduced in size and made more concise. It's down to 33,500 bytes from 42,000 bytes. Soldier198-2 (talk) 15:44, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Restorer / Channeler[edit]

Are these real terms? Not sure how I feel about "Restorer" and "Channeler" being used in a guide when I've never actually heard either of those used. horrible | contribs 12:49, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

Restorer is used sometimes to refer to Restoration Magic healing. It was already in use in that article under the restoration subsection before I retitled it. Channeler I used to simplify the previous title of "Channeling Support Ritualist". Channeling Support Ritualist in the context of that article just means someone who uses channeling magic skills to support their team. I think Channeler will be understood in the same way whenever someone reads the article. Soldier198 (talk) 15:00, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
