Safest Mo/A?[edit]

The Mo/A version of the safest A/Mo works well. It uses full health not 55 so it is more survivor friendly. All blessed insignias and attunement runes with the exception of whatever vigor rune you can afford (+30, 41, 50hp). Minor smiting on +1 headpiece but even that can be swapped for attunement because of the dmg cap from SF. Caster weapon an a shield with +10 vs earth and either +30 or +45 while enchanted.

Useage is same as A/Mo, precast balth spirit for energy, maintain SF, shroud of distress, and way of perfection (no real use, it is added dmg reduction because of sf so always keep it up). Cast the 3 dmg spells once you ball the vaettir. It takes 2x of the dmg spells to kill the ball. Doing one pull of all 60 is possible but it is much safer to do each side seperatly. For a monk survivor it is much safer than 55hp. [Template code: OwcT4Y/85hHpzIg3jsIE5AKPAA] 93.115.95.204 23:55, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Build discussion[edit]

Hey Smiley-1. About your edit on Vaettir farming. I played with "you are all weaklings" and it worked perfectly. --Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 15:29, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Hint: You does not mean everyone else. Also it requires to have this skill and a notable rank in first place. --Smiley™ de: user | talk 16:17, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi guys. 1) I know jackshit about VF. 2) I checked out the PvX wiki for the Me: https://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/Build:Me/A_Vaettir_Farm
Optional skills listed are WotM, Wop and also YaaW. No Feigned Neutrality. So there are people who are running YaaW and even put it on the PvX page.
That's the drawback with builds on this wiki: It's just not meant for skillbars. See recent discussions. You 2 seem to be most knowledgable about VF, so why don't you get rid of all those skillbars (leave that to PvX) but concentrate on the concept of VF? Steve1 (talk) 10:34, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
I agree that the wiki is not the place for builds (we had that discussion in the german GuildWiki as well) but for certain things, people will just google and pick one of the top results, go there looking for builds - it's just what they expect. So having some full examples for a very popular thing can't hurt. That said, i'd rather shrink the build collection down to one example (which is Deadly Paradox, Shadow Form and Shroud of Distress for most), mention alternatives, like Obsidian Flesh and Vow of Silence and leave it at that. Maybe even link to PvX or so. Too bad GWCom is down nowadays. (see also de:Spektral-Vaettire farmen on GuildWiki) --Smiley™ de: user | talk 10:43, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Man man man bin ich froh, dass ich das Spiel nie in Deutsch gspielt habe. Da bekommt man ja Augenbluten. ;-P Steve1 (talk) 10:52, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Ey! Nichts gegen GWCom/GWTactics! Der Build Creator war einmalig! :D --Smiley™ de: user | talk 10:55, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Edit, re: "YaaW!"/Feigned Neutrality. The meta question: why would you use 2 skills that heal/buff your armor and reduce the dealt damage of foes, both of which can't be kept up permanently, and one of which is a PvE skill that needs to be aquired and a rank, when you can have 2 skills that can be maintained easily and stack up with Shadow Form? If you need more healing than Shroud of Distress provides or get too much damage, you're doing it wrong. (Also, the additional healing of Feigned Neutrality likely cancels the block chance of Shroud - you won't die, but Shroud does not have any effect aside of stacking on SF - this variant is definitely worse.) --Smiley™ de: user | talk 11:37, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

recharge = 12, concise description= Shout. Inflicts Weakness condition (8...12 seconds). Also affects adjacent foes.

Yaaw is permanent. And heavy prefix exists as well. - Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 12:00, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

At Norn rank 5, adjacent range. Question remains why go the less efficient route when you got the better solution out of the box? --Smiley™ de: user | talk 12:30, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

One possibility could be - similar to PvX - to list those skills as optional. Steve1 (talk) 13:06, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

But please only list skills that are at least somehow efficient or useful and can improve a build in some way. Just because something "works" does not mean that it makes sense or is useful and efficient. And i think we can agree that farming is about efficiency? €: i removed YaaW! from the PvX article :P --Smiley™ de: user | talk 13:14, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
You are right that yaaw is a pve skill and you need a decent norn rank to make it work well without needing a heavy axe or similar. I can be wrong, maybe I'm missing something but I see only 5 damage reduction from one enchantment under SF, compared to 23 damage reduction (-66% on a 35 damage attack) from weakness. --Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 16:27, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Have you ever farmed a single vaettir or are you just theorycrafting here? --Smiley™ de: user | talk 16:33, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

Deletion[edit]

Farming section in glacial stones is enough. For experience farming, it's either we leave it to youtube and PvX, or put it in Guide to Legendary Survivor. I am tired of getting into empty conflicts over petty stuff. If deletion is the price to pay for everyone to agree then so be it. --Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 14:05, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

Wait, you want to delete it because i said that one build is not efficient? That is petty. Matter of fact is that this guide needs a rework. --Smiley™ de: user | talk 14:13, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Nice from you to offer your help :) --Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 16:12, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
I already wrote a guide back in 2010, it's the one on GWCom. I might as well clean that up and put it here. --Smiley™ de: user | talk 16:39, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Feel free to salvage parts from my comment here. --aRTy 17:26, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
