Resigning *Yawn*[edit]
Horrid Combat Quest, this Zaishen Quest brought a bunch of people who Insta Resign if on Red, I'm not great at Hero Battles and at least 6 - 7 people resigned for me, in a row, making this Zaishen Quest the easiest way to farm Balthazar faction and Zaishen Keys. Sir Baddock 10:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC) It's called tanking which many active hero battlers do to farm faction and do the quest faster.
- I found nobody resigns once you get above 1020, which is still a noob rating (2160 myself) but you dont have to put up with all these tools resigning for free cash.--202.182.65.195 22:15, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- 1160 rating sorry not 2160 =P--202.182.65.195 22:16, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- I emailed A-Net regarding this and this is indeed a violation of the rules of conduct...added response to section for RR -Zanarov 18:54, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- This quest is a giant red flag that says "Exploit me for fast, easy money & faction!" If they banned everyone who's ever done this, there would be like 10 players left. There's also no way they can prove it's ladder manipulation. What if you just don't want to fight some players? ~Shard 21:57, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
- ^ Pretty much exactly how I feel. If they just banned the people from last RR day, that would be around 6,000 players (I'm assuming that around 1-2 districts had people actually interested in playing....which is a large assumption). If you add that up for each and every RR day....that's several thousand more. That's a lot of people to ban in a game that really can't afford to lose that many players. Banning them would be a big slap in the face and essentially trying to lay the blame for RR day on the players rather than where the blame should be....the developers. It's just like Speed Clears, SF, and Ursan. If you don't like people abusing it, then you shouldn't have put it in the game (and made it easily abusable). Karate Jesus 22:10, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
- I am in the same boat. Its not the community's fault for getting together and creating this "farm" to abuse the system. If ANET wants to make the game easy for new players, then the experienced players are going to take it and abuse the heck out of it. This is why we have 7 min UWSC. Because we have a broken skill (SF) + Cons = abuseable. The public has some smart people in it and ANET can not keep open the door for this kind of abuse. Also, at the same time like someone else said, they can't afford to ban 10,000+ people for something they can control and they implemented themselves while trying to retain players for GW2. I myself have done this and view it as a nice money maker for the next week of questing and a day off from playing the game so I can visit and get to know my friends more in the game. And besides all this, HB (along with TA) is going to be removed soon. So RR is not long for this world. Unless of coarse it finds its way into RA and god forbid GvG... which is highly doughtful. - SabreWolf 15:05, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Everyone and their mother can blame A.net but they gave the warning saying "hey, this is cheating. Stop". That said, I'm still wary about mentioning if I have took part in this or not, as I'm on the official wiki :/ -- anguard 15:22, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Saying, "hey, this is cheating. Stop." is pointless. Although two employees have said it's "cheating" (Linsey and Gaile), neither one of them was willing to say whether or not Anet will take action. Here are some things I'd like to point out:
- We're talking about over 10,000 players (unless some of them botted). That is a hell of a lot of active players to piss off.
- And then you have the problem of how to tell who was actually RRing and who was just resigning because they were getting their butt kicked (or leaving for the same reason). Do you really expect Anet to go through that many chat logs?
- Like Sabre said, this is the same as UWSC, Ursan, SF, etc. If something is put into the game that is easily exploitable, some players will exploit it. That's true of all video games.
- On top of all this, how many of the people who RR do you think actually know it's cheating? Unless they read Linsey's talk page, Gaile's talk page, or 1 Guru forum; they simply can not be blamed for not knowing.
- There has been no announcement in-game condemning this. There has been no action taken as a warning. This is a joke and it is NOT the players' faults. It's Anet's fault for letting it get this out of hand. Karate Jesus 15:31, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

- As far as I can see, there are 3 things ANET can do about this...
- 1.) They can just discontinue the Z-Quest which is the main cause of this issue; but that would be penalizing actual HB players from not getting rewarded for actually playing the game. But I can see the basic rewards raised higher to compensate, just no more Z-Coins.
- 2.) They can dishonor those that /resign, which would force actual HB players to have to fight the full battle (not in a good way). Unless they can find a way to place a time limit holder on that dishonor; like if /resigned within the first minute of the battle, resigning player gets a dishonor point.
- 3.) Just sit and wait for the bugs to get sorted out with SD (ANET reported live issues and has delayed the implementation) which will replace HB.
- So far it seems ANET has been doing option 3. - SabreWolf 15:47, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- People don't /resign, they just flat out leave. Not that I would know this... *cough*-- anguard 15:52, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Leaving typically causes dishonor in other arenas as well as resigning. But still...I think option 3 is what they're doing and honestly, I think it's their best option as long as they get SD done before Halloween. If this goes one 2 more weeks, people are going to riot. You should have seen the Guru Forums yesterday 0.0 Karate Jesus 15:54, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, like KJ said, early leaving also causes dishonor points to trigger (RA for example). so it does fall into the same bin. I also saw parts of the Guru chat man... I just prefer to discuss major issues like that here were there are more intelectual people that will listen and less raging people ::wink:: - SabreWolf 16:07, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- That is true. I know several people that skip GvGing that day to go RR at HB... so your statement about PvP shutting down is sadly true. So the sooner Option 3 happens the better. For PvP and the general game economy for that matter. - SabreWolf 16:22, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, I meant it shut PvP down because of the server problems. RR day causes mass code 13s, 15s, 200s, lag-outs, etc. In AB people would end up fighting only 1 team of 4. GvG had HUGE lag-outs. Often people would zone in to only find the NPCs. HA was ridiculous as well. RR day basically kills PvP for 1 day a week because of the server stress it causes and the fact that everyone would rather just RR and get money than lag out and get pissed. Core?[edit]
Hero Battles requires either Nightfall or EotN... so it's not a "core" PvP type. FoxBat 19:17, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- Just like any other Zaishen Quest, it is a Core Quest since it is available to any GW player. However, just like all the PvE Zaishen Quests, this one requires a specific campaign to be done.90.27.83.244 17:36, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Please take this out[edit]
Or at least make it non-repeatable. At least if they have to delete/recreate it'll slow them down....
- It will go away eventually, they're removing heroes from PvP sometime... Haru 03:06, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Aren't they replacing it with hench though? Or was that call for skillbars for something else? It's not hte heros that are hte problem, it's the resign/quit with no penalty that makes it farmable (lock 'em out for 15 minutes for quit/resigning before say, 5 minutes elapses)
- They're removing the Hero Battle format soon (very soon). So this quest won't be available for much longer anyway. Also yes, they're replacing Heros with new henchmen (the henchman bars will be based on bars we (the players) have submitted (you can't any more)) ~ PheNaxKian 11:13, 25 September 2009
- I hope they keep this flaw in mind when they make the next version.
- Why would they remove Hero Battles? Even if they make 1v1 Henchie battles, there will still be the problem of RR day. So they won't really be fixing anything. Plus the people that actually do play Hero Battles will make a HUGE fuss. --Shinigami King 18:23, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Lol[edit]
How can they ban 55 districts of people? It's their own damn faults anyway :/ Karate Jesus 19:05, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- My guess is if they do anything at all it will be to take away any commander title points they earned during this and possibly remove any zkeys/money they have left...Zanarov 11:23, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- Lol, severely doubt it. It'd be like a GW Tiannamen Square. They've already given us terrible servers one day for it and many of my guildies have complained of terrible lag and code 13s. Underhand work perhaps?--92.14.223.207 15:37, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm almost positive the code 13s are purely from servers not being able to handle 60 some odd distrcts of it. Soon everyone whose level 2 will have obby armor and BDS.... Stupid thing is this could all be fixed by putitng in a good old dishonorable code in there.
- if dishonor was put in, people would just resign instead of leave. then they wouldnt get dishonor. --adrin 20:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm pretty certain you get dishonor points for resigning in certain PvP formats, such as Alliance Battles. --Silver Edge 20:22, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- But not hero battles. -- FreedomBound 20:23, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
