Um.... skin could have been a lot better... no offence... SabreWolf 05:10, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

I like it :) --Arduinna talk 07:09, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
The astral staff is a nice stave skin, also one of the few valuable stave skins. Isamu Kurosawa 14:42, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Prefix bonus?[edit]

What's the prefix bonus on the staff? All I see is a HCT Water inscription and an Enchanting suffix. HeavenMonkey 11:15, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

something might be wrong here on german the staff looks like this:
http://www.guildwiki.de/wiki/Eisbluts_Kriegsstab
  • Energy +10
  • Cold damage: 11-22 (Requires 9 Water Magic)
  • Halves skill recharge of spells (Chance: 20%)
  • Halves casting time of Water Magic spells (Chance: 40%)
  • Enchantments last 20% longer
so 40% HCT? theres something wrong i think... --82.82.84.102 16:29, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Should be written like in the Skybringer's stats. --numma_cway 17:10, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
No, its been comfermed to be +40%, http://www.guildwarsrealm.net/images/com_sobi2/clients/194_img.jpg which i am not sure makes it better or not... because a 20%/20% spilt can get possiable 1/4 casting time... SabreWolf 22:46, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
strange, when taking a look into the german wiki again, they say that it'd be a translation bug (and explain the diffrence). Are you sure this picture (showing the item with english description, but also with the 40% chance) is real? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 23:48, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah right. The first guy to add it listed 40%. Then someone split it into two 20% mods and then someone removed it :| HeavenMonkey 11:43, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Has anyone been able to get one of these, and obtain a quarter-cast? That'd confirm if internally, it's still 20/20, or if Anet just goofed. ~Seef II <|۞> 18:38, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Someone on Guru claims to have gotten a QCT off, [1]. I'd like to hear an independent confirmation myself. --Valshia 06:20, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
A couple of us on the "other wiki" did some tests, and barring the possibility that we were both really, really unlucky, you can't get a QCT off of this staff. On a side note, is having a unique mode really an "anomaly"?User Entrea Sumatae Sig.pngEntrea Sumatae [Talk] 02:14, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
IMO, QCT is a myth. There is a hard cap in guildwars on HSR, an absolute maximum of 50% even through skill use...just look at your run of the mill perma-shadow assassin. I find it extremely difficult to believe they wouldn't impose the exact same limitation on HCT knowing full well there are ways, multiplicatively, to go higher than 50%. That and there is an absolute limit on how low a spells casting time can actually go, they can't be zero. 98.219.48.111 14:46, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

We need Duplicate[edit]

We need a guide to duplicating this. Treesbyty 11:36, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

I would prefer someone telling me why they suddenly add such unique bonuses to greens. I could not care less actually, but making things really unique in the sense of not replicable at least in stats is a bad move. I hope they do not want to make things more "unique" or meaningful for us in this way. This can only end up in a mess, so better stop it right now, ANet. --Longasc 23:20, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
actually there are a bunch of prophecies greens that aren't replicable as well. The diffrence is that this one uses a completely new modifier, those i am talking about only use existing ones, but twice from the same upgrade slot. (Take a look at Garbok Handsmasher's items for an example.) —ZerphatalkThe Improver 23:41, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok, now you can all quit whining about the "uniqueness" of this staff, as it was merely a wording error. The item description should reflect the actual mod, which is two HCT20%, one from "of Mastery" wrapping, and one from "Aptitude not Attitude". --ChristopherRodrigues 20:37, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
with this two HCT20% mod on the same staff it don't make a 40%HCT staff ; it makes a 32%HCt + 4%quarterCT. don't know if this staff was like this before, with the two mod that could combine 20% by 20% of the time.--Anksa 06:32, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Hm I always thought it was 36% half cast and 4% quarter. What's the exact math on this? I'm bad at math so would really like someone who knows it to type down the actual calculation.89.172.137.199 16:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Lame. They nerfed it even though it wasn't imbalanced, just different. Now it's just more of the same easily copiable lameness like all other modern greens, not worth keeping, going wts... --Yawg 20:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
The chance of both mods failing are .8*.8 or .64, so the odds of at least one mod working is .36 or 36%. There is a .2*.2 or .04 (4%) chance of both mods working. Note that this 4% is part of the 36%, so the net results is a 32% HC and 4% QC. --Jeremy Winston 17:33, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
I just reread the description on the main page. It implies a 36% HC plus a 4% QC. That should be changed. Maybe I'll just do it. (Ooooh! My first Wiki edit.. I'm sure it'll be reverted) --Jeremy Winston 17:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Item is a myth[edit]

I've been looking for this for hours, tried the most different farming builds on this guy. Nothing works, it's not farmable, no one sells this.

Remember to sign your comments with four tildes (~ *4). I got this staff from Spafrod in normal mode the first or second time I killed the guy, while on a Vanguard quest. Didn't have to farm it at all. Anyway, if you still want this staff, I have it lying about. Come find me in-game, my character names are on my profile. ~ A R A ~ 03:56, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
