Hate to say it, but like...once in a Blue Moon a Locked Chest will block the way of the Tortured Spirits during the Imprisoned Spirits quest. Than 10:51, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

One or two[edit]

The Walkthrough section indicates that if one spirit dies, the party gets kicked out of the Underworld, but the Notes section indicates that if two spirits die, the party gets kicked. I would correct, but I'm not sure which is right. Freedom Bound 17:41, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's two. Many times i've had one spirit die but not be kicked out.--Grentch.jpgGlory 15:29, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Changing to two, we'll see if anyone else has an issue with it. Freedom Bound 15:02, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
All that is needed for a fail is the death of a single spirit. Verified this in multiple runs this weekend. I have seen comments about the old version of this quest (prior to the addition of Dhuum) where it was sometimes possible to complete the quest with one spirit death, however, based on my experience, this is no longer the case. --J E T 23:34, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Quest Fail?[edit]

In the Walkthrough it says: Note that the death of even one single spirit will send your party back to the outpost from which you left to the Underworld.

But in the Notes it says: The spirits in this quest need to be protected at all costs, and cannot be killed. If two of the spirits are killed, your party will be removed from the Underworld.

Wich one is right, or have I missed something?

If I remember correctly, the party wipes as soon as one spirit dies. So every one of them must survive. My guild usually sets both Monks to heal the spirits and the party survives by moving out of AoE and Paragon mitigation/healing during this quest, with the occasional Monk heals if they have the time.--Sensei 17:14, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
Is there still a reference to two somewhere? I thought I changed them all. (had the misfortune of discovering the new spawn point and that only one spirit can die) -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 17:19, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
Confirmed. Single spirit death = fail. --J E T 23:35, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Spawn location[edit]

A map would be useful. Our party just failed because we had no idea where the groups would spawn. --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 15:19, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Current map showing Dryder spawn location is innacurate[edit]

My group failed this quest when all the Spirits were killed by the Dryders because we were waiting at the location indicated on this map. The Dryders actually spawn just south of the Spirits on the same plateau, not on the trail as indicated by the map. Nicco 22:33, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

The map is outdated. Recent updates changed the spawns for the dryders. 76.103.242.232 22:40, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

the map got me and several other groups I know killed. I deleted the link. Why would you leave something like that posted when it was KNOWN to be wrong? 99.184.52.75 14:10, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Why does ANet do this? If your party is not positioned right, you WILL fail. 72.89.217.185 05:51, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Two locations[edit]

We did this today, and I'm not 100% sure, but I think there are two spawning locations for the dryders (and skeles). One being just south of the souls, and the other being north-east of the souls Class 23:37, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Correct, there are now two spawn locations. If you are in the gully (where the spirits spawn) facing the bridge, silver dryders will spawn on the path to your left (the path that circles around to a dead end). In addition, a larger group of terrorweb dryders will spawn in a circle, on the Reaper side of the bridge (the side closest to you). So, you now need to protect against aggro from two different directions. I will try to remember to take some screens next time so that there is a current map of the spawn locations. --J E T 23:40, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Lore[edit]

"were cast down into the pit. Most have been lost forever, but a few remain who have not yet been driven to madness. I shall make it possible for them to escape the realm of torment."

Would this mean the bone pit leads to the Realm of Torment? DemonicFahrir 12:56, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

I think it may just be a phrase to describe their pain. The Emmisary 23:41, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
