Redirecting[edit]

I'm redirecting Iron Mines of Moladune (explorable area) here because this mission has no explorable area. Shard 04:42, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Not too difficult with H&H in HM.[edit]

On some HM missions a n/anything MM just doesn't work that well. I found that a n/anything MM with a weakening build did wonders(OABDQTxGPLVFRzHPoFmCHVqA).Vanguard skill "eb0n battle standard of honor" helps if you have minions.Though the mursatt are all casters or monks, there are still enough tanks that you have to deal with. The white mantle priests do cast "judges insight"(holy damage) but this can be interrupted, plus with all the minions/tanks in your party causing weakness, the melee opponents, even the boss doesn't do a lot of damage.

The mission its self is pretty simple, so i went after the bonus first since i was already infused.Take down the bosses mesmer henchmen first! The "inquisitor" of course tries to run away, i just used my e/me with "imaginary burden" or the asuran skill "summon ice imp"to slow him down. He took a while to kill, but didn't even make it anywhere neat the bridge in his attempts to escape.Micro 20:42, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Hero Infusion Run[edit]

It's like HFFF, but even easier. Basically, load one of your heros with 1-2 run skills, no need for balanced stance! The trick is once your hero is flagged well outside your radar, no mobs spawn (unless you yourself get close). Kill yourself off, so you can manually guide your hero, and once your hero is clear, there's absolutely nothing that'll kill it. Surprisingly, it activates the cutscene, thus pulling your whole team to infusion. This is really handy for people who solo, and aren't using a class that can easily run to infusion themself. --8765 07:39, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

When I did it, the mobs simply spawned when the hero approached them, instead of them being there all the time, which then got my hero killed...Paddymew 16:57, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
The first group of Stone Summit and White Mantle are there, as are the first popup group of Azure Shadows, just under the bridge, but after that, nothing else pops up or spawns. As long as you can get your group past those (hero with "Charge" should be enough), then the rest is simple Magua 16:39, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Markis location bug[edit]

On having infused my and my team's armor we continued on to defeat Markis, only he wasn't in his usual location (as marked on the wiki article map). Only 2 of his Jade Armors appeared. We decided to look for him and found him near the start of the mission just across the first bridge. It appears he got stuck on a chest. Once we defeated him we were then able to go back to the north and his remaining 2 Jade Armors appeared. Once defeated the mission completed as normal.--Eldris 18:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

This happened to me also - I took the back route and when I went to kill Markis, he wasn't there. So I checked the talk page and found this comment, then I decided to walk back along the Mursaat path (the eastern path), and found him stuck on a locked chest somewhere along the path. Bonus difficulty[edit]

I cant for the life of me make this missions bonus with all henchies and heroes. It takes exactly 3 seconds for my not infused henchies to die from the Mursaat hex Spectral Agony, with me and my monk hero spam WoH and Heal Other on them. I cant heal them fast enough. In every fight...*BAM*..all henchies are dead in 3 sec, leaving me with a 5 man me-and-heroes team. Its not just a little unbalanced... Well, go get them infused! There is a Seer in this mission, and no Mursaat on the way there. 76.30.79.54 20:34, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

I just did mission/bonus HM today and i took the mursaat path (aka henchies not infused). Just flag h/h in a square formation with heros in front and henchies in back, and stand in front of them. I was really worried that the mursaat would burn us down but Lina is amazing with protective spirit. Also worried about the Inquisitor's 50% speed boost from HM would out do my You Move Like a Dwarf but he never moved more then 10feet before stoping to fight which ultimately is where he fell. Dont ignore the mursaat he spawns with, take them out first since they drop easy but can deal huge damage with e-surge.--Justice 19:48, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Is it so difficult to go from the other way? Oo. just go around and you'll get infused and u can get to the inquisitor when u have a clear road which means u can easyly take him down --Ritualist-tango-icon-200.pngRequiem 11:20, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Killing Markis on the first bridge ...[edit]

... just at the beginning is possible (ele-team with snares + spike-power), but wont finish the mission. might be worth mentioning for people who want to try this (like me ;-) ) The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.75.232.206 (talk • contribs) at 17:21, 27 July 2008 (UTC).

genious! :D —ZerphatalkThe Improver 17:25, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

If this is the first place you have unlocked to capture Barrage, then this is actually somewhat useful. Completing the mission is no great feat though.--Justice 19:48, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Old note is old, but if you Heart of Shadow off the first bridge onto the level below, and the rest of the team shadow step to you - then Markis doesn't start moving + you've also got yourself an easy cap. Flagging the heroes around while waiting at the start won't work -Chieftain Alex 17:57, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Haha i just tried it without reading wiki... I was hoping the mission would finish quickly 82.197.211.252 22:14, 19 February 2024 (UTC) Mr-HaXx

Henchies infused after doing Infusion?[edit]

Does anyone know if the henchies become infused if you take them and do the infusion part of the mission? 86.17.72.80 01:24, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

"Anomaly.Heroes are automatically infused, while Henchmen are not." You can't infuse a henchmen, however after a certain point in the game (possibly all missions after this one or something) I believe they become infused, but I tend to use heroes as they are automatically infused all the time. ~RyuuUser Ryuu Desu Sig.png[ Talk|Contributions ] 01:27, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm not so sure. My own gear was already infused but I did the run anyway (normal mode) to test this, and the hench appear to be infused after taking the Spectral Essence to the Seer. Before we got there, Mursaat would wipe them pretty fast (there was a Mursaat necro and a Jade boss at the ballistae and the hench got raped). After the infusion run, even though the Seer said "you have no more armor I can infuse," the Mursaat used that hex and the hench only took a normal amount of damage, with no degen. Can't say whether it works in HM, but for normal it seems to. YMMV. --Tekn0mancer 01:47, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Visiting the Seer is unnecessary?[edit]

For some reason, I didn't have to go back and get the seer. I ran straight up the bonus path, cleared up to the Muursaat gate, and went back and killed the inquisitor. When I reached Markis, he was in his usual spot at the end, and I killed him. Then the mission ended without me having to see the seer. I had 3 heroes, 4 henchmen, and fully infused armor.

The Seer infuses armor. Thats all. In the other two missions you have to kill eidon and take his squims back to the seer for the bonus and the last mission you have to protect the seer to activate the bonus. The bonus is killing the inquisitor, which is quite a long ways off the standard mission path. Justice 08:46, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Is the name of this mission..[edit]

Supposed to be said in a Scottish accent? 84.92.169.252 00:26, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Rampaging Stone Summit[edit]

Not a much of a risk in NM but perhaps useful in HM, but the second group of rampaging Stone Summit (that are near the first White Mantle Engineer and first two bosses when going the Seer route) can be completely avoided by going under the bridge by the Engineer which will take you directly to the first and second bosses. Most likely obvious to everyone else, but I just noticed it recently (having previously backtracked and hacked my way through the Summit) and didn't see this shortcut noted elsewhere. Lord Flynt 06:43, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Yeah the wiki map indicates that thats the recommended route :) Chieftain Alex 09:52, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Stupid me didn't notice that either. Your bringing this area of the map to my attention makes me think of something else. The map suggusts running across the middle of the frozen lake closer to the Mantle's stronghold; however, I've always hugged the left side, furtherest from the Mantle. Since I've noticed that siege fire will sometimes kill a few of the Mantle in the stronghold, maybe the closer route will cause all the Mantle to spawn before you come all the way back around. This may mean more of the Mantle die from siege fire before you get there, leaving fewer enemies to clear out later. Thoughts? Lord Flynt 15:41, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
I think that the route indicated drags the group through the middle of the seige fire from the Mantle - where the stationary warrior/monk boss sits, you might as well kill the boss for the morale boost - the damage from the seige (even if you're careless enough to sit in it twice) should be a non issue to anyone capable of finishing the mission.
I've not done the mission in ages, but I'm a bit confused by your description of the White Mantle being damaged by seige fire; I thought that the seige engines were pointed at the Stone Summit outside of the eastern fort? Chieftain Alex 15:50, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
The eastern fort has two levels of siege engines, and I've noticed that some of the Mantle in the lower level do get caught in the blasts. Lord Flynt 20:46, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
