Talk:Mini-mission
Remove from Category:Unofficial terms?[edit]
It's mentioned ingame - see A Land of Heroes quest. —ZerphaThe Improver 20:24, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Changed, rather than removed.Backsword 20:43, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, right. Excluding it means including the opposite Category in this case. —ZerphaThe Improver 21:34, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Adding Assault on Beknur Harbor?![edit]
You should add "Assault on Beknur Harbor" as mini mission, since it completely fits in the description/playstyle of such!
Secure the Refuge[edit]
I added the area to[[Category:Nightfall mini-missions]], but it doesn't seem to have been included in the list on this page. I'm a novice at wiki editing, so can someone more experienced fix it/tell me how to fix it?
What defines a mini-mission?[edit]
Is it the ingame-notation that this quest is a mini-mission? In that case we'll need to remove quite a few quest from the list. (Annihilator, Kilroy, actually the whole BMP and the HotN content..)
Or do we categorize by features? Tag every quest with it's own rez-less instance as a mini-mission? In that case, there are a few missing, like Zinn's Tasks. Tub 10:41, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- We could define official mini-mission and unofficial mini-mission.
- Missions take place in special instances, offer no rez shrines, are repeatable, and are part of the primary story of a campaign.
- EotN primary quests are often referred to as missions; they have all the properties above except there are rez shrines in the special instances.
- Quests take place in the same instances as VQs and general wandering about.
- Primary quests further the storyline; secondary quests do not.
- Mini-missions are officially tagged special instances, also repeatable.
- Unofficial mini-missions are repeatable quests that take place in special instances.
- Missions take place in special instances, offer no rez shrines, are repeatable, and are part of the primary story of a campaign.
- What did I miss among our current practices? — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:02, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- We should probably revise these criteria. They currently include things like The Great Norn Alemoot and not things like Raid on Kaineng Center. Maybe add something like that it has to be a part of a storyline and remove the "no res shrine" rule. -- Kirbman 02:39, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, we are even less consistent now than we were 10 months ago when I posted above. I think the key factors we want to consider are:
- Can you rez during the activity?
- Is it repeatable content?
- Do you go to a special instance? Or does it take place in a standard one (for the storyline).
- Is the activity part of the campaign's primary storyline?

- It doesn't help that ANet is inconsistent about what to expect based on their use of terminology. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:59, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
