Rewards[edit]

Walkthrough[edit]
You will not have to fight anything, so concentrate your skillbar on moving quickly; aim for a permanent IMS of 33% or more. To start the quest, speak to Sif Shadowhunter who will start the timer. The quest indicator on your compass will help you find your next goal.
- Drink from both barrels next to Sif.
- Run to the Keg of Ale stack, pick up one, and carry it to the Keg Stand.
- Repeat three times.
- Return to the barrels; drink from both again.
- Run the slalom by following a zigzag path around the outside of the markers.
- Make sure the quest updates as you pass each marker.
- Avoid the inner side of the flags; you can get disqualified even if you had passed them earlier from the far side.
- Return to the barrels and drink from both one last time.
- Follow the quest markers to the pen and push 3 piggies into the pen by bodyblocking them from the opposite direction.
- Pig herding tips
- You can speed things up by moving some pigs closer to the pen before starting the challenge.
- If you are lucky, you can even herd three pigs into the stable and collect the reward without talking to Sif, allowing you to collect the reward without triggering the timer. However, the pigs are not at all cooperative.
- You can bring spirits to help guide the pigs, but that is not guaranteed to work.
- Some players have had success by repeatedly rezoning until the pigs are either in or very close to the stable before attempting to herd them.

Dialogue[edit]
Initial dialogue[edit]
Olaf Olafson
- "What are you doing here, small fry? Come back when you're old enough to drink. What am I talking about? The Great Norn Alemoot is what! Test your skills...and your tolerance..in the time-honored tradition of competing under the influence. As four-time champion, I'm headed there myself to defend my crown. Best me and you earn your right to party with the boys. Are you big enough, tiny?"
Olrun Olafdottir
- "What are you doing here, little man? With a girlie gut like yours, you'd pass out after two kegs. You're what I'd call a "two ale quail." What am I talking about? The Great Norn Alemoot is what! Test your skills...and your tolerance...in the time-honored tradition of competing under the influence. My father is four-time champion; I'm headed there myself to try for the crown. Best me and you earn your right to hang with the real largebellies. Are you big enough, tiny?"
Intermediate Dialogue[edit]
Olrun Olafdottir
- I can only bring one human to the Alemoot. You will be separated from your party. Are you ready?'
Olaf Olafson
- I can only bring one human to the Alemoot. You will be separated from your party. Are you ready?'
Before competition:
- Sif Shadowhunter
- Our ale is the thickest, finest and most potent in all of Tyria! It'll cover you in chest hair! Your flimsy human liver will probably melt, but don't say I didn't warn you. Since you insist on proving yourself, I'll let you make your own mistakes.
At start:
- Sif Shadowhunter: Go! Go! Go!
If you fail:
- Sif Shadowhunter
- RACE FAILED
- I would like to restart the race.
- I would like to return to Olafstead.
- Are you sure you would like to go back to Olafstead?
- Yes, I want to go to Olafstead. (sent to Olafstead)
- 'On second thought, I'll stay here.
- I'll participate in the festivities for a bit longer.
Reward Dialogue[edit]
Olrun Olafdottir
- "By the gods! You have a stomach of iron, intestines of rubber, and a liver of steel! And that jutting chin reminds me of the mountain crags above my home. Good sport, my friend! Perhaps you're not the useless runt you appear! Next time I'll plan an even more robust challenge...."
- Olaf Olafson
- By the gods! You have a stomach of iron, intestines of rubber, and a liver of steel! Perhaps you're not the spindly waif you appear! Next time I'll plan an even more robust challenge...
Notes[edit]
- You do not need to touch the Keg Stand; once you bring the keg bundles close enough; they will drop automatically.
- The slalom zig-zag path is unforgiving, so give each flag a wide berth (around 5 to 10 steps) as you pass around its far side. Start at the bottom of the hill and head towards the stable.
- You must run exactly between the flags, otherwise you fail the quest.
- Drunkenness from these kegs does not count towards drunkard title.
- Disabling post-process effects makes it easier to navigate, since the display will not wobble.
- You can explore past the closed doorways at the various map exits and reveal otherwise unreachable areas. However, you will encounter the usual foes outside the alemoot; bring running skills and/or spirits to use as decoys.
- There is a locked chest to the south, in the area where Nulfastu Earthbound normally spawns.
- You may postpone the quest reward by map travel from this solo instance to one of outposts and then receive it from corresponding NPC in their usual location. This allows to add to the party other heroes (in particular, below level 20) who will get experience as well.
Bug.For various reasons, the quest can be completed without finishing all the activities:
- You automatically succeed once three pigs enter the stables. You can use this to your advantage, by body-blocking the pigs into the pen before starting the timer. It takes longer, as the hogs are harder to control, but you have all the time you need this way. Also:
- Sometimes three will reach the corral on their own.
- Sometimes the game server registers three pigs entering, although you see something different on-screen.
- If you have completed up to the slalom, you can retake the challenge and succeed by heading straight for the pigs, who will now be easier to herd.
Bug. If you apply an Extreme Makeover Credit to change gender after taking the quest, but before completion, you will have to finish it an extra time before you can proceed to the subsequent quests.
Bug. You can see the edge of the world by running into the next zone.
