Farming[edit]

Any ideas on how to farm these? --81.151.194.88 09:26, 4 August 2010 (UTC)-Jigweasel

Kill monsters that drop them. 109.182.43.96 11:30, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
SoS ritualists can farm nearly everything in nm. SoS is your friend when farming Nicho items --Lhoj 15:21, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Leviathans are really the only creature that you can get them from, however I can't say they can be farmed effectively, they don't seem to drop very often, I ran through the Gyala Hatchery 4 times last night, with 3 other party members and only got 2 moon shell drops for myself, there were a total of 4 dropped in those 4 runs--Syntropic The Red 15:54, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Lore[edit]

"Luxon folklore says that they both shine like the moon, and absorb its power. They are also used in making mirrors." What validates this? Any references? User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 15:13, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

I believe the reference is dialogue from this collector NPC. Google searching this site was helpful in quickly locating the reference. MisterB 21:28, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

The Impossible Sea Monster[edit]

Haven't we excluded quest NPCs from Acquisition sections before? It makes sense to list this in the drops of the Monster, but I'm not sure if we've previously reached some kind of consensus on unique/quest NPCs in the item page. Also, the link leads to the quest instead of The Impossible Sea Monster (creature). Blue Totoro 02:33, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
