possible spawns[edit]

Did i get this right? This one randomly provides a summon that can either be a regular one - also obtainable from more common stones - or an exceptional summon like a BMC or a Black Beast of Arrrgh? The latter sounds quite tough, can anyone confirm this, or knows which skills it acutally uses? On top of this, a BMC summon would be the first creature based on a minipet, and not the other way round. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 14:35, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

A swarm of bees... LOL. --Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 16:10, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Always wanted that to be an actual fight-able monster...Interesting to hopefully see what they can do.--66.192.104.13 17:37, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Maybe poison? :D --Lexxor 19:09, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Just summoned a Crystal SPider... >.> --90.207.35.208 10:51, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

I can vouch for the existence of the Black Beast of Aaargh summon - piccie - http://i41.tinypic.com/2nhffhi.jpg . It's a dervish, but don't recall which skills it used. 217.129.12.177 17:10, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Why are the stupid winter summons in here? Remove them! Aro 04:36, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Added Avatar of Sweetness per my own experiments - I do not have a login and cannot post a screenshot to prove it. 76.105.170.191 08:57, 5 May 2009 (UTC) Grey Anangke

Cleanup thoughts, Infusion[edit]

Someone's going to have to clean up and uniformize the notes between the various summon pages, add the consistant ones to this page, etc, eventually. Probably after all of them are in.

Anyway, someone added to the black beast page, that the thing is susceptable to the Mursaat's Spectral Agony as if it were not infused. Anyone want to test this on the other summons and see if it's common? :D --Star Weaver 06:57, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

I summoned a snowman with one of the mysterious stones at Ring of Fire, and it died unusually quickly by the mursaat, so I think it wasn't infused either. Zoe 19:21, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
I summoned a Devourer and the same thing occured, it's very likely that none of the summons are infused.(marsc 14:49, 1 May 2009 (UTC))

Odds[edit]

It has occured to me that some summons appear more often than others. I have had Snowman and Grentch way more times than other summons like Black beast or rabbit. If someone could find the odds of gettiing each summon, it would be greatly appreciated. Flaming Hot Chilli 06:47, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

There is definately not an even chance for each. I am keeping track of mine now and will post when I have some more used. 76.84.34.210 20:41, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I recorded all the stones I've used since my previous message. I don't know if it deserves a subpage.

I think it's worth starting a drop page. (Note: remember to put the standard disclaimer that people should plan to add their data to the page prior to using the tonics, lest the results be skewed towards cooler forms.   — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:13, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I made the page. I know it's too long, any help would be appreciated, I had to teach myself tables to make it but couldn't find anything that would help. 76.84.34.210 18:21, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
I think you did just fine. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 18:23, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Interaction with Cutscenes[edit]

Twice this evening I used a mysterious summoning stone and it seemed to dissapear with the cutscene. Unfortunately it did not dissappear enought to allow a stone to be used by a different member of the party, they were given the 'summon is already active' message. This happened at the beginning of Dragons Lair, popped the stone and after going thru first portal the gaki had disappeared, and after clearing out the entrance to the cathedral and picking up the Urn in Arborstone mission. Anyone else noticing this happening? Em Jae 06:15, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

I had this happen before, but i found the reason. When you go through a cutscene, you will almost every-time be teleported to a different location. When this happens, the summon will not teleport. It will be stuck until you come back in compass range. Thats why in Dragon's lair, you got teleported to another area while the summon stayed in the same area. Another bug that needs to be fixed by Anet. Flaming Hot Chilli 08:30, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Question about the " * " denotes a summon unique to this stone[edit]

I am pretty sure, like 99% that I used a Cottontail Tonic and turned into a White Rabbit.. because i checked in guild chat if the cottontail was supposed to do what it did, and most of my guildies didnt think it was supposed to either..Sloh Em Oshun 05:04, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

That's a form of a TONIC, this is the SUMMONING STONE page, meaning it will spawn one beside you as an ally to fight, not to turn you into one. No worries though, as this is easy to miss when both begin with mysterious. --Curin Derwin 05:23, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
LOL.. i got mentally pwnd on that one.. srry bout the mix up XD..Sloh Em Oshun 06:59, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Summons don't use the teleport in the Desert (Prophecies)[edit]

I'm just vanquishing the desert in Prophecies and I noticed my summon didn't use the teleport. Should this be put into the main-article so people won't waste their Summoning Stones in the desert? Grown Up Gwen 16:49, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes. And perhaps also as an {{anomaly}} for the relevant areas that have teleports.   — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:42, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Title Points?[edit]

Are there no title points associated with these?--Son of Batman 07:38, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

From personal observation, use of these summoning stones does not increase the Party Title progression. Not sure about any others. 69.182.180.195 06:30, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Difference by area?[edit]

So I've been vanquishing/doing missions in the Echovald recently, and I've gotten 3 siege turtles in a row from these. Am I just incredibly 'lucky', or does the rate of certain outcomes change based on where you are? EtherealHeritage 04:49, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Just lucky. I've gotten siege turtles in dungeons (where they could barely fit through the doors), bees in Echovald, snowmen in Catacombs of Kathandrax, and Fire Imps in Norn VQs. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 04:58, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, but looking at the summon rate with 5.7% for those to be summoned, I thought the odds were pretty small that I'd get it 3x in a row (like .057^3, = .01%?), and siege turtles had something to do with the area, so I thought it was worth mentioning. EtherealHeritage 05:04, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
