Template Coding[edit]
Can you explain how this works?
<includeonly></includeonly>

- Includeonly tells it that it will only put the category on pages that transclude this page. (i.e. it doesn't put the category on this template page) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 16:20, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- And in response to your question on the other page, this has nothing to do with the infobox :p File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 16:25, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Future cycles[edit]
It seems Nicholas' current and future cycles will be the same as his second cycle. If that is the case, then the dates that are displayed via this subpage on the pages of the items Nicholas collects could be changed from its current format. I've thought of two methods, both of which would ignore what is entered in the first unnamed ("Week of") parameter on the item pages and wouldn't display the previous dates (e.g. the first and second cycle dates) on the item pages.
- Replace
Location: {{ #if: {} | {} | changes weekly }}
withLocation: {{ #if: {} | {} | changes weekly }} (once every 137 weeks)
- Automate it to display the next date. E.g. edit this subpage so Red Iris Flower would display: "Location: Regent Valley (next time he is there is the week of 6 March 2017)." I'm not certain about the code that would be required; would this be possible?
A page similar to Daily activities can also be created with a table of Nicholas' cycle. Any thoughts or ideas? --Silver Edge 06:56, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
- a predictions page is easy, User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox.
- I agree that we don't need to show the previous date on the collector box. The next date that hes in a certain location should also be possible, I'll have a think. (its last time he was there, +137*7*24*60*60 seconds. We can get it to lookup the time from the second round that he was there from a new template). It could also link to the table page. I'll have dinner then maybe do it today/tomorrow. -Chieftain Alex 20:24, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox seems to display the dates of Tuesdays instead of Mondays. E.g. Red Iris Flowers displays 22 July 2014, when it should be 21 July 2014. --Silver Edge 04:04, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm. I need an elegant way to figure out what the date is on Monday of the current week (after 3pm). I dunno if this fix will work for that. -Chieftain Alex 07:03, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
- User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox 2 does what we want I reckon. Took quite a few attempts to get the right date to fall out >.<
- The only thing I'm not sure about is the wording.. preview it on a few different nicholas items to see what I mean. -Chieftain Alex 19:08, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
- You're referring to "Week of next appearance:"? Seems okay to me; although, I suggest placing the date next to the location similar to festival collector subpages (e.g. Horseman Vilneous/Collector): "Location: <location> (week of next appearance: <date>)". --Silver Edge 05:05, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah I changed it a few times since I wrote that. -Chieftain Alex 06:51, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Since there doesn't seem to be any objections to it, this page can be changed to use the new code. --Silver Edge 08:50, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
