Talk:Persistence of Memory
Trivia[edit]
hey guys not sure if i should fix the wording of the trivia on this or not, as it might be rude of me. However the sentence seems to be a tautology. E.g "This skill is named after the famous painting of the same name". If it is named after the painting, then it has to have the same name, thus saying "of the same name" is somewhat pointless. Sorry for being pedantic. -- Salome 01:13, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know... wouldn't a skill called "Memory's Persistence" still be named after that painting, but the name is different?—Ebany Salmonderiel 17:02, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- It did seem rather redundant, I've fixed it now Natso 19:53, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
crap version of Mantra of Resolve[edit]
Only spells, just like the Mantra, huh? Without other circumstances, spells have a minimum energy cost of 5, the cost paid if a spell that would be iterrupted by mantra of resolve prevents it. so other spells with higher cost make you pay 5, 10, 20 more energy. additionally, you need to recast the spell. If you are interrupted and iterruped again, you don't make progress. Mantra of Resolve just let you lose energy, but you will cast your spell. Additionally, enchantments can be ripped a lot easier than stances can be ended. The best thing: energy cost and recharge of those skills is the same, but persistence has a casting time, and only lasts 20 seconds at 15 FC. Mantra of Resolve lasts 90 seconds then. The only possibly advantage: Persistence uses a primary attribute, Mantra inspiration magic. I doubt that this makes this skill equivalent to Mantra of Resolve. —ZerphaThe Improver 14:51, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- it could become an interesting skill if this would be changed from an ego-skill to a skill that can also affect allies:
"For 5...17...20 seconds, whenever a Spell cast by target ally is interrupted, that Spell is instantly recharged" —ZerphaThe Improver 15:16, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Being in a primary attribute is definetly a DISadvantage because its usage is limited to the corresponding primary profession. Furthermore, it's completely wrong that enchantments can be stripped of easier than stances. It only happens less often (because its not favored to do such things). Noctarch 09:46, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Magebane, Distracting Shot[edit]
How does this skill behave when you get interrupted by Magebane Shot or Distracting Shot? Does the 10 (or 20) sec disable still kick in? NilePenguin 16:16, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- No, I'll add this in the notes. (Terra Xin 13:03, 18 February 2008 (UTC))
Gwen?[edit]
Is it just me, or is gwen in the skills image?
- Nope. It's just you. ^^ Haruno Midori 12:48, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Whoa[edit]
When i first read this skill description, i thought it said all of your interrupting skills (like power drain and power spike) recharged instantly. Wouldn't that be an awesome skill? --^^ The Wind Sage 13:28, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Glyph of Concentration or similar[edit]
So...normally if you disable it when casting a spell immune to interrupted, the disable will still get you....if you have the glyph up and this up, and you cast a spell, what happened if someone uses distracting shot on you? Does it disable (and thus make the spell fail) or not?Amberlink 17:18, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Kind of a late reply, but if you would take the time to read a little you'd know the disable won't get you if you use this skill. EtariP sdrawkcaB ehT 00:48, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
