Now, this one i have heard of :) (as in ranking->verb:to rank->to be the victim of rank-displaying, ie. "you got ranked).--Fighterdoken 21:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

You can rank non-dead people too. Like when people do it in town. Cant count how many times ive been in a debate with someone and they deer me (I dont do high end pvp) and because I dont have rank they consider that the end of the discussion. -R---96.225.144.48 06:47, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

This is getting some attention with the new Zaishen emotes, so I'm doing a partial rewrite. Good point about in town ranking above, I made the corpse ranking a separate paragraph to make it clear that it's not the only way to rank.

There seems to be some controversy over whether ranking is rude or not, so I put both opinions in the article. It's impossible to say how popular each opinion is -- after looking at some forum discussions I went with 'many' thinking it's rude, and 'some' not. I feel the most important thing here is to have both opinions expressed.

The part about the Zaishen rank being designed for corpse ranking could be linked to the relevant announcement, but I'm not sure how to best do that. 85.23.121.158 16:20, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Misnomer?[edit]

I had always thought this was referred to as "rank-spamming"... - Vik 04:07, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Changed the article slightly[edit]

As I find it hard to believe that anet "intentionally designed" the zrank for ranking dead bodies. Even if this is true, there isn't any source, making it theorycrafting regardless. I removed it. If someone can provide support for that note, please feel free to do so and revert my edit. User Ryuu R.jpg Ryuu - talk 09:11, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Abit late but: "The Zaishen Rank emotes were created to be very interactive. For example, if you position yourself correctly, you can use it as a finishing move after you defeat someone!" obvious encouragement of zranking dead bodies is obvious. Ox rider 12:35, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
