Fun fact[edit]

Reisen means "trip/to travel" in German. Effectively, this guy's name translates into "The Phoenix Travels" if read as a German sentence - which matches his personality (all two times we see him, he "travels" (aka flees)). Konig/talk 16:21, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

I think it's just as likely to be a pun Rise, as in the Phoenix rises. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:10, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
I'm very well aware of that and saw it immediately (the German "reisen" would be pronounced "risen"). I just realized this second pun earlier and found it humorous enough to note on the talk page. I highly doubt that it's intended. Konig/talk 17:30, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
The German pun not intended? Perhaps (although, it wouldn't surprise me if one/more of the devs visited a ReiseBureau at some point in their travels). The English pun? That sounds exactly like the kind of pun that Stumme's crew seems to, erm, enjoy. In German, is he Reisen Der Phoenix or Reisen Der Phönix or? (If he's Traveler Der Phönix, then ... sigh.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:45, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
I meant the German pun is not intended. Reisen's name in German? Reisen der Phönix it is. So they literally read it as "Travel the Phoenix" - though if they decided to read it as a sentence and not a name, then their reading it as how we would read "the phoenix travels" (as said above) - in German, verbs are put before the subject (generally... I think, still a newb in German :D). Konig/talk 17:57, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
As a native German i think the pun is not intended. Reisen der Phönix sounds like a name me even if reisen is the German verb for traveling. The correct german for 'The Travelling Phoenix' would be 'Der reisende Phönix'. The correct german for "The Phoenix Travels" is "Der Phönix reist.". I think it's just a coincidence. My money is on Reisen for next hero[edit]

Big part of WoC storyline and he is a Rit, which would rock having a 3rd rit hero. (or 2nd if you use Razah for something else). Maybe I'm just hopeful that its not Miku.... They did say we would be surprised, and I am super doubtful that it will be Shiro. The Alice 15:22, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
