Krytans Ressurecting?[edit]

While I was doing the mission, I noticed that some of the Krytans in Beetletun would ressurect. I couldn't figure out what the mechanic was that they ress-ed by (after a set amount of time? if there are no enemies within a certain range?), but this might be useful for people doing the mission. Raethiusliore 09:07, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

The NPC will ressurect automatically after a certain time period, regardless of foes in range.Yamiingenkon 11:11, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
This has been the Norm ever since EoTN came out, it's observable in a lot of places Miskav 13:25, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Same rule applies to the assassin ally that tags along with you (miku? Can't remember names). One of my guildies said that you can litterly afk this mission and the allies end up killing everything by themselves. I'm not sure if he got lucky or not, but it's worth testing I think. 114.77.98.223 10:55, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
If so you should afk at the very corner of the town, that should work.--NeilUser Neil2250 sig icon6.png 10:56, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Na they seem to kill all the krytans before they get time to ressurect and find you and kill you. J new Tormented Scythe.png 14:03, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Positive I saw one of them use Restoration. Aro User Aro Signature Logo.gif 08:51, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

BUG?[edit]

i noticed that in quest log it doesn't say 2 medals of honor for reward. Possible bug, or just me?

It doesn't say.–User Balistic B d-dark.pngalistic 02:52, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
The quest log only lists the permanent rewards. It's easier to just have the medals/supplies as bonuses, rather than set the quest log to alter the reward list based on the number of times you've done the quest.--User Pyron Sy sig.png Pyron Sy 03:13, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Silly![edit]

Make sure you don't have HM set when you start the mission. Just saying. Could save your forehead from that keyboard impression.ButeoRegalis 04:37, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Getting around[edit]

If you walk too far past the "gates" of the town you are teleported back to the place where you started the mission. This can be useful if you need to get quickly to the east gate of the village form the northern one.ButeoRegalis 05:13, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Wildly Inconsistent Difficulty[edit]

After doing this a bunch for farming Vanguard points, I find that the sheer variability in how difficult this is is frustrating. Sometimes the mobs that spawn are so cake that the Krytans take care of them themselves, other times it'll spawn, in a single mob, an SoS Rit and an Abbot and a Scout with Res Chant and a Champion with Signet of Return and an Adherent that wipes out Krytans easily (because they don't know how to move out of AoE all that well). Sure it keeps you on your toes, but it sure is annoying to sit through Keiran's speech for the umpteenth time and not get any Vanguard points to show for it. 66.128.123.242 22:41, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Not really sure how you're seeing this "difficulty flux". I am an experienced player, and I usually get wiped by the mid-wave. 71.244.147.3 02:51, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
I want to agree with OP in this section. I've also noticed that if you just go ahead and rezone every 4-5 rounds the difficulty kind of "resets" but rarely can I ever get past doing more than 6-7 Rise quests in a row because the difficulty (for some reason) just becomes so wildly inconsistent to ability that - without running a bot to avoid the slowness of human speed, user lag, and other variables that make you slower via the internet - you could never accomplish normally. Sometimes, it works, but it's not worth the headaches all the time. Maybe I'm just imagining things though but I think it gets more difficult as you repeat. 68.103.162.199 04:03, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Hannah
On a second note, as I continue to play tonight getting my r10 Vanguard title, I think that this quest is just bugged completely. The more I play it the more buggy it gets, with spawns coming at the EXACT same moment and a party of 8-10 white mantle confronting both sides at once, and sometimes, at worse possible scenario, they come in so fast after one another that I can take them out on one side but the other side has been overrun with around 15 white mantle and they're just sweeping through crushing everything. I've also noticed while playing tonight that the krytans don't seem to rez as much later on, but upon first doing the quest for the first 4-5 times they rez plenty. I'm not sure but I think it should be considered a bug and maybe reported to anet? It's very inconsistent and the spawns/text don't always match up, at least when I play.

Bugged spawns?[edit]

After doing this a few times, iv had a couple of runs when EVERY mantle comes at one point, and the npcs just get blow away and it just becomes a battle of luck. Ill get the text that the final wave is coming, then kill the last 2-3 of the ones im fighting which then ends the quest, indicating the final mob came earlier than they should have. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 90.212.101.172 (talk).

HM worthwhile?[edit]

Just wondering, as I do this mission for the dozenth time... are the drops better in HM, enough to make it worth doing? I've gotten the occasional gold or purple in runs but mostly whites and blues. Batmanhatguy 23:40, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

It's farmed for war supplies if you're looking for good drops its better farming somewhere else.--86.42.76.102 17:06, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Just me or...?[edit]

Does some of Thackeray's skills seem to get bugged in this mission once in a while, like his quickshot thing maybe happens to go faster than his normal arrows like 75% of the time, and I find the difficulty of any group with an Healer/MM combo practically impossible to get across without a lucky shot from Keiran's Sniper Shot because the Monk will keep healing the MM, the MM will keep making goddamn minions, and every NPC is so useless that they attack the Minions (Flesh Golem and AotL seem to be the worse by far because it's an infinite supply of minioning). {{subst:usigned ip|68.103.162.199}}

It is difficult, no doubt, but that scenario is supposed to be one of the challenges of this "solo" run. Bide your time, use hit-and-run tactics, and hope for a good shot. I prefer to take down the MM in that case, just so that the minions are forcing the monk to heal and use up energy before I take the rest down. As for quick shot, I hadn't noticed any issue. G R E E N E R 17:41, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Yea, I've had up and downs with it. The AI seems pretty ridiculous at times. Sometimes It'll work out perfectly and I'll clear in 6 minutes, other times I'm waiting for 15 minutes because every POD is thrown on somebody with a sliver of health left or just can't get that lucky shot on a healer to take down the system.
Is it just me, or does it seem like the NPCs target the person you call? ----Adyst

Mini[edit]

Has anyone have any of the War in Kryta minis Drop? I am trying to get a Peacekeeper Enforcer. I thought I can do this at same time and get War supplies with it. thanks -- 15:42, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Quest Gone From Scrying Pool[edit]

I completed the previous part of the quest (Shadows in the Jungle) and found the the Shining Blade Cloak and tried this part a couple of times. This was early December 2010. Hadn't tried going back until today and the "Rise" quest is not available from the pool anymore. So I go to look back for the cloak and it's not there either. Anyone else have this problem? --Kniblet Beast 04:53, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

You have to have Keiran's Bow (the Gwen version) equipped (not enough to be in inventory).  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:21, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
I suppose I should have specifically mentioned that I had Gwen's Keiran Bow equipped, was solo, and entered the Hall of Monuments. Thanks for responding, though. Simple things like that can be overlooked. It does let me select the three previous quests from the pool, but not this one. I also had the bow equipped, was solo, and entered the Watchtower Coast to "re"-look for the Cloak but still nothing. I will redo the 3rd one (Shadows in the Jungle) again and then see what happens. --Kniblet Beast 14:19, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Turning in for repeat?[edit]

I'm feeling a little dumb here. I decided to repeat this, and it shows as completed in my questlog, but...where do I turn it in? I did leave before the dialogue was totally finished, did that maybe screw something up? Any help would be awesome. Ruse talk (talk) 19:19, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

You need to stay around until the dialog is over to get your reward. Leaving early counts as failure. You can't turn it in. Tub 19:41, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
Bah, that's silly. Late response from me, but thank you. Ruse talk (talk) 02:32, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Drake Spawn?[edit]

Just as I completed the final wave, I saw a Lightning drake spawn in the western portal before it disappeared. It wasn't targetable but it caught my eye. Has anyone else seen this? --Spigs 02:00, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Charm Drake, probably. 67.180.237.90 02:06, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I realized a couple runs later that Drake do actually spawn there. I hadn't noticed it before, but it was still weird how it appeared like it did and all. My bad. :P --Spigs 08:46, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Skills bug[edit]

Don't know if this is intentional or a bug but when you gain the last skill it will replace anything that was in that slot in the bar instead of filling up an empty slot as expected. --70.171.186.59 20:16, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
