Moa Bird Map[edit]

Why is there a map to the location of the Moa birds in Post? There damage type is different and so is there name thus they are NOT the same pet, while retaining the same appearance. Although the differences are minimal, it is enough that I beleive a map to Moa Bid locations is inapropriate on this page. Perhaps the map should appear on the Moa Bird page and a note added to this page outlining the similarity of the two pets. 122.104.228.149 15:09, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Just read the note on the wiki about damage type being the same as Moas. Some old truths die hard eh :P. 122.104.228.149 15:14, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Bigger than a Moa Bird?[edit]

Are they bigger than Moa Birds? I don't want to propogate more myths and rumours like the slashing/piercing damage one. 122.104.228.149 15:18, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I have checked in code and both the Striders and Moa Birds use the same evolution chart. That means that the evolution species it uses are the same. Therefore, Striders are not bigger than Moa Birds. Also, their damage type must be the same. - User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 23:00, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Strider Name Glitch?[edit]

I caught a Strider in Pre Searing a few weeks back, (It's only level 4 right now though.) and named it Moa Bird, just because of the similarities between the two, now just today i went to reset my pet's name but it stayed as saying Lvl 4 Pet - Moa Bird instead of reverting back to the Strider name, Either this is a glitch with the Strider/Moa Bird naming (Likely for being the same) or it's just a random glitch that could have happened to anyone with any pet.

Note: I even tried naming it Strider and then resetting but it returned to Moa Bird, Seeing as there are no moas in Pre, this is somewhat strange. (Yes, the character with this pet is still in Pre)

I have had this aswell, on my N/R she has a level 4 Moa Bird, and if I type /Petname it doesnt change Aerie swiftarrow 00:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Aerie again, I remade my Ranger, and currently he has a lvl 13 Aggressive Strider (at lvl 4 it went to Moa Bird like my old Necro) but its back now, but it hasnt grown a bit... 90.207.76.159 20:16, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Mine randomly changed its name at lvl 3...Zeph 04:54, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Don't Striders change their names when transferring from pre to post searing? --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 04:56, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Nope, common misconception. Mango 20:48, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Huh. well, thats what I get for never playing proph then. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 20:50, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Just happened to my Strider (Whom I named Deathbeak) and is now also set to the default name of Moa Bird. Got to love these odd little glitches. Hey, at least I get the rarity of having a genuine Moa Bird in pre. Pariah talk 23:25, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

But, aren't they the same thing? Or aren't they?[edit]

Just to get this straight, are moas and striders the same thing? I'm alittle confused. Plz reply, cause I clicked on moa, and it shows the same locations as the strider. :/ Carleen96 18:11, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
