Talk:Superior Salvage Kit
Someone changed this to make Superior Kits better than Expert Kits. Other than the number of charges (noted) they are functionally the same. Please see these patch notes for their addition: September 2005 - Addition of Superior Salvage Kits.
From the September 7 update:
"Added Superior Salvage Kits and Superior Identification Kits, which are the same as Expert Salvage Kits and Identification Kits except with 100 charges instead of 25."
Functionally, they are identical to Expert.--Mystisteel 15:14, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Be that as it may, even though they do the same job, Superior Kits are arguably "better" in that they are cheaper to acquire. Given the "going rate" of 200g per trophy item (and that's actually higher than what most buyers offer), a Superior Salvage Kit effectively costs 10g per use... versus 16g for a Superior Kit. Doing the same job for less money is better. Auntmousie 06:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
I've long wondered about this and now I've had a little unintentional experiment with "earth scroll"s. I ran out of parchment and have been salvaging all the earth scrolls i get. Everytime I use a superior kit I get parchment, when I use an expert kit , i get wood. Every time. They are all the same level item because i've been farming newbland for victory tokens and well earth scrolls prior to that, lol. Don't know that this will change anyone's mind but I've long "felt" that I had better results with the superior kit but never actually experimented til now.
Value? 1K or 2?[edit]
The infobox says 1K, but the article states 2K - which is right? Or does the value only indicate its re-sell value?-- Cyberman 16:00, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Look at the Acquisition section. --JonTheMon 16:01, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) They are buyable for 2k, but since merchants buy things at half of what they're worth, it'd be 1k to sell it to a merchant. -- Wandering Traveler 16:01, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- I see. Thank you. It is a bit misleading, IMO, but this isn't the place to discuss that.-- Cyberman 09:52, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
