This needed a serious overhaul[edit]
The information here and in other spots on the tactics wiki is lacking. I fixed it up a little Liokapelenoria 14:16, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
- Are all players named in the screenshots OK with their name being mentioned on this wiki? -- (CoRrRan / talk) 14:25, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
Is it even possible for me to get all their oks? Its not like i'm doing anything wrong to them, unless they're afraid of being a little famous Liokapelenoria 00:55, 12 May 2007 (EDT)
- Eh, don't worry about it too much - see, we were having this party, and one thing led to another, and, before we knew it, we had this: [1]. Technically, since they're labeled as ArenaNet images, and are pictures of in-game content, it doesn't really matter, IMO, if they gave consent. That would be a rather silly thing to legislate =P

- Well, i would imagine that players who aren't ok with their user names in screenshots are also not ok with their user names being seen in game. It would go to reason about that. For demonstration purposes of those images, the player names are an additional tool used in detecting tells. You recognize an number, but you may recognize a name too. After reading that little discussion you guys had, noone there mentioned that player names are visible in-game. Even more particularly, if i had screencapped that from a top 100 match instead of my guild's recent matches, then the point about being OK with seeing your name is even more invalid, simply because anyone can log onto observer mode and see your name and watch you play. The real bottom line is the context of the screenshot. If i had showed one of the guys frenzy healing signet at the same time, it would be a problem, but the context is to demonstrate what you see when you hold the control key down. Noone is hurt here (except some random punk or few who think its funny to pm spam names they see in screenshots, and those people are just sick anyway). If one of our fellow editors truly has a problem with the screenshots, he also has a perfectly fine copy of photoshop to blur out the names with. Its a wiki, not a webpage. - Speaking of which, I have a screenie of Izzy Frenzy-healsigging in a match. MisterPepe talk 01:23, 12 May 2007 (EDT)
- From the XoO side, they either already know about it or are about to pretty shortly... and I don't think any of those guys will be the least bit worried either. -- Sirius (talk) 20:58, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
I feel like the new article by lioka is much too wordy. As far as the actual telegraphing is concerned, all that's important is that two or more warriors are converging on a target. Explaining one way (in detail with pictures) of noticing player movement is extraneous. A monk telegraphing costly spells like aegis with glyph lesser is on-topic, pointing out that you can then interrupt the spell is extraneous. Gus 05:20, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
