Easier to go from ToA - less foes to kill before boss and you get 8 man team

I was going to post the same. The decline 07:22, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
I like the note. "the nearby group of lynx will have killed him." Wat. 69.157.50.36 17:55, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
It's true, there is a hostile herd of lynx. I don't know if they'd have the strength to kill them, but they do exist. -- Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 20:05, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Just did the quest, or rather, had it done for me, and yes, they do in fact have the strength to kill the boss, at least in hard mode.24.14.48.164 20:17, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
I ran here from Bergen Hot Springs and finished the quest in less than ten minutes in HM. I can't imagine it could have been much easier from ToA. The Lynx group had aggroed some other enemies nearby when I just did this quest, so they were never even part of the equation. -Sahjiarah 02:47, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
I just left for him from ToA. 3:30 until I entered Cursed Lands (killing only 6 skeletons and one mantle group along the way), 5:10 until Barthimus and his group were dead on the floor. HM of course. Unless your "less than 10 minutes" is "less than 5 minutes", ToA is faster. Tub 11:07, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Lynx[edit]

Does anyone know if the Lynx in this quest are charmable? User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 08:17, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

nope, but the lynx is very easy to charm in north Kryta province (just north of D'Alessio Seaboard). Rumian 08:28, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. I was just wondering because I thought it could have been a nice possability to charm a higher lvl one. User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 08:35, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
It's easy enough to charm L5 animals, take them to the menagerie, and DL them there. Not counting setup, takes about 5-8 minutes/creature, including release/DL/return to Enyd. (Setup time depends on whether you have the skills and the heroes handy.) That unlocks everything for that pet.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:42, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Internecine warfare?[edit]

This week, when smiting Barthi for Salma, his mob wasn't (for a change) waiting patiently for us to aggro them. Nor were they engaged in senseless combat with the native wildlife (the Lynxes or the Plants). Instead, he was battling a group of foes just to the North (over the hill, along the leftside path out of the valley, as you approach him).

Who were these unmasked men? Peacekeepers! I'm guessing it's a bug and that ANet forgot to set the appropriate flags for either Barth's mob or the PKs. Has anyone seen other examples of disagreements between the PK and Mantle? – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 10:58, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
