Talk:War Preparations

Though it was quite a while back, I distinctly remember that if two people of different professions do this quest in the same party, the two trainers will speak to each other when you exit Ascalon city. Perhaps we should record that here, or would that crowd the page up too much? Monk-tango-icon-20.pngCrystal Myr 23:15, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Split[edit]

What is the split proposal? I'm guessing it's to split on the basis of which profession trainer to speaker to? Though it seems like overkill to split off such a small amount of info (the short trainer dialogues?) --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 11:29, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

There's a total of nine quests with the same name. Deserves disambig. Backsword 16:01, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
See War Preparations (mesmer) for why this is useful. Backsword 23:30, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't think it's so much info a new article is really warranted, but I guess it doesn't hurt either. - anja talk 23:42, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
It's not that it get's excessivly long, but that the sections split induvidually, it becomes unclear what subsection goes with what other subsection. That's why people didn't note the bug I marked. Backsword 00:05, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
There is no need to split this article into different ones, all the information is right hear and the in game links to only this one for all of the professions. --Sktbrd341 00:56, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Checked in-game and the quests have separate links (W, R, Mo, N, Me, E). So they can be changed if needed. -Smurf 17:03, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Forget I said that I do remember seeing the multiple links in the game link page, not sure what I was thinking when I posted it. Well if there are separate links it might be good to split the articles so they have their own page, the only thing that might get confusing is if two people in a party are different professions and they both look up how to do the quest then they might get confused on why there are two different ways to do the quest. --Sktbrd341 17:32, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I think the 'mix and match your own quest article' format would be ok for most places, but this quest is a tutorial one, often the second quest ever for people, so I think it needs to be as clear and simple as possible. Backsword 10:22, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Splitting this up would only make the disambiguation problem worse. In fact, the separate Mesmer version of this quest, including its bug report, should be merged into this one. mtew 06:31, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
I am forced to agree the separate Mesmer one should be merged with it. It is over kill to have them all split up into different pages. It is the same quest regardless of what profession you are. the only thing that changes are the NPC that is waiting for you when you go outside town. And a little bit of dialog but again that is only profession based and does very little to change the motions of the quest it self. They all send you to kill skale and come back to them when you have.---Lemartes94 10:32, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Split? Keep? Split? Keep? If we keep it, I'll merge the separate Mesmer page with this one for the sake of the List of Prophecies quests. It seems a split would be good given that the game links to separate pages, but then it seems like a stretch to have six pages (well nine including the NF War Prep pages). So, decisions? ~Celestia 11:20, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
I tend to agree that separate pages are probably unnecessary. (And, speaking from experience, it adds a little to the burden whenever GWW:QUESTS changes require the quest pages to be updated.) --DryHumour 13:51, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
I think the Campaign war preparation pages need to be separate, but the rest needs to stick together. Too much confusion if spread out otherwise. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 21:14, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Or a subpage of each War preparation with a link from main page? Like War Preparations/Prophecies Warrior , War Preparations/Prophecies Mesmer , War Preparations/Prophecies Necromancer , War Preparations/Prophecies Monk , War Preparations/Prophecies Elementalist , War Preparations/Prophecies Ranger. On the six prophecies quests. And on the three nightfalls quests. War Preparations/Nightfalls Recruit Training , War Preparations/Nightfalls Wind and Water, War Preparations/Nightfalls Ghost Reconnaissance . Thoughts? ♥ Ariyen ♀ 21:21, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
