I disagree with the deletion. For the same reason we have articles on other obscure names, e.g. Forbidden City - this article allows us to show all we know of the location. Konig/talk 04:40, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- Nowhere in gw1 does it suggest that "the village of Wren" was in Orr (that is gw2 canon), once we remove that bit from this page, the page becomes redundant + trivial compared with either of the quotations on Lyssa/Statue of Lyssa -Chieftain Alex 11:16, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- It still holds one very important bit which you happened to ignore in your response: "this article allows us to show all we know". It's not completely redundant and trivial. Konig/talk 14:11, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- The only place it is linked from already tells you everything on this page. -Chieftain Alex 14:29, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- You're missing the point. Okay, presume this scenario: A person plays Guild Wars and reads the scriptures of Lyssa. They're curious as to where this place is and in turn, anything else about it. They go to the wiki. What do they search: A) Lyssa, B) Scriptures of Lyssa, C) Statue of Lyssa, or D) Wren. The answer in most cases will be D. They do that and come to a "does not exist" what will they do? Some will give up, some will search for articles where Wren is mentioned, and some will make the article. That situation is why there are so many one-line articles about people, places, and things which are mentioned once or so in the entire game. Most of which being within Category:Unexplorable areas and Category:Unseen NPCs. Konig/talk 21:03, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- If you must, think of this page as having a three-fold purpose (while most like this have a two-fold purpose). First, it tells folks all that's known in Guild Wars. Second, it gives a tease of more information. Third, it directs to the GW2W which will, eventually if not now, hold far more lore (such as its proximity to the temple of Lyssa, it being in northern Orr, etc.). - Ah. But a person examining the scriptures of Lyssa from Guild Wars only perspective will not been told anywhere (within Guild Wars) "where" Wren is. If they're curious as to where it is, from a Guild Wars perspective, we don't know. Only GW2 is supplying the information that it is within the province of Orr. Bluntly the only purpose of this page is to provide a link to the gw2 village of wren.
- This is however probably the simplest way of directing searches for "Wren" to GW2. -Chieftain Alex 21:20, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- The purpose that mentioning a little more than what's seen in GW1 is that it would lead for further digging (via the gw2 tag) that could not happen on this wiki. It gives people more information, while keeping most of the GW2 info on the GW2W, and simultaneously properly directs folks. So why not link here and keep the article? - Wait, I delinked an article that doesn't exist about a character who called Sara plague infected AND removed the deletion tag, and now you think that I've removed the link to here? :/ -Chieftain Alex 23:20, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
